Edit: Still haven't broken out the GOOD camera and lights, but I got a digital camera that can take much closer pictures (in focus- sometimes), so here's a nicer set of photos. I still haven't gotten around to the handful of fixes I need to do. This is my HA Bumblebee. Sadly it no longer transforms. I've been unhappy with HA BB since he was initially released, and my unhappiness only increased as other HA toys got better. So I finally made a HA BB I feel good about. The head, shins, arm guards, and back bumper (not very clear in this photo) all came off of Leader Class BB. I remounted the wheels and wings just about where they should be to make him screen accurate. I also sawed off large amounts of leg kibble and painted what was left gun metal gray. All body panels were repainted yellow- the yellow is slightly lighter than it should be, but I like the color. There are a couple fixes I should yet do, including painting visible epoxy to make it less visible, and I think I'll repaint the eye slats on his faceplate a darker color. Pretty much all robot articulation still works. Enjoy! P.S. On my desk top the image is rotated properly. I'm not sure why it's sideways here, or how I can fix it.
Looks good, when I tilt my head, lol! Seriously though, I plundered leader bb for the same parts, they fit so well, they look like they were made for HA BB. When I first saw the leader b on display, I thought that was human alliance Bee's head. Looking forward to seeing some more pics.
You mean it isn't?? . For three custom, very well done, would like to see the back of it if possible, . Also, the split up chest looks REALLY good on this!
Pictures are still bad (he's got a great glossy new car shine), but the new ones are at least facing the right way. That gives you a sense of the back though. Thank you!
does it transform? it looks perfect... if it does transform, then it's the best bbee toy ever, with movie accurate robot mode + car interior.
Unfortunately I'm not the engineer some people around here are. It doesn't transform. Thank you for the compliment!
nice updated pics, I'm literally in the process of posting some of my own and wanted to mention you in the thread. I really like what you did with the small yellow pcs at the back of the ankles, may have to steal that one from you! Keep up the good work! HA Bee needs more movie accurate love!
Steal away. Maybe you can get the paint application better than I did back there. Mine ended up a little thick and some of the detail mold lines aren't as sharp as I'd like (quite possibly the paint work I'm least happy with on it). I'll be getting an airbrush in the near future (yay!), but this was done with a mix of spray paint and brush work. Unfortunately it wasn't practical to do those heels with the spray paint so I had to use a brush. I'm off to go check out your handy work.
Updated with some better close up pictures. No changes to the toy yet. I may eventually take some GOOD pictures as well. Enjoy.
