I happened to have x-play on last night right before attack of the show. much to my surprise, they had a gunstar game for the gba, and just from the previews, I thought it was for the ps2. my jaw hurt from opening so wide. much to my surprise, not only was it a portable, but it came out last year. I'm just wondering who has it and how good it is. I have the old genesis one, and I realize that they took the 2-player mode out, but that's ok cuz I don't have anyone to play with.
I have it. It's a lot of fun, and pushes the GBA to places graphically that it has rarely gone before. And if you can still find it, it's $19.99 at Wal-mart (at least it is at all the Wal-marts I've been to). Can't beat that.
I got Gunstar Super Heroes just after Christmas. Totally cool, but freaking hard in some places. Playing it on a Game Boy Player makes it a hell of a lot easier.

It is made by Treasure. And it's practically a remake of the original Gunstar Heroes, though I've read that the higher difficulties have a different between level story.

It's a very good game. The story changes between difficulty and characters as well. But it is obscenely hard. Green and his Seven Force will give you nightmares. A boss that has SEVEN forms.
I'm a big fan of the original gunstar heros, so of course I got this game... my only complaint is this: Way. Too. Short. P.S., I'm with twin twist on this one. GH > contra
Because Gunstar Heroes is a genius, and sits at the front of the class, Contra must ride the short bus to school and can't even *find* class.
Yeah, got that one a while back. My old roomate had me hooked on the Genesis one. Good stuff, but hard.
Hey, Twintis, the classic Contra games are great. Don't go around talking crap about them just because you can't find an adequate way to descripe just how holy crap amazing Gunstar Heroes is. A better analogy would be that Contra is a bright young man who does well in school and is popular with his classmates, and Gunstar Heroes can fly and shoot lasers from his eyes and gets laid every night by twelve hot alien babes, each hotter and more alien than the last and also he drives a racecar.
That does it, Canuck, Alpha Flight died for you, and this is how you repay them? I hope SMEGs eats your face.
