It's neither good or bad, it's all about how it is done. Just like everything in writing. Otherwise, "I'm sorry Two-Face, you suck."
Seed I understand it’s popularity but why Destiny, fans defend that sequel like hell sunrise even bother to remaster it (destiny characters made cameo in the original seed series.)
Sometimes, you just feel the need to be a completionist. Most fans aren't that objective. The ones you see analyzing and complaining on message boards are only a small subset of the fans, and typically the most vocal. Destiny still has its fair share of fans, even despite its narrative weaknesses.
Are you trying to ask why I bought Destiny? Because it and Recon G are the only main Gundam series I did not own on BD. Plus, that Destiny box set matches the SEED one. It includes both the HD remastered version (though, it doesn't seem like they actually cut out any of the clipshows compared to SEED HD) and the SD one. Not to mention it was on sale for $150 two weeks ago, which is the cheapest it will most likely ever get.
The first half of Destiny is pretty good. Better than SEED ever was at its best. It's only the second half where everything completely derails. Even then, it isn't the worst Gundam series ever made. It's just super disappointing for its lost potential.

Both before and after the OP, two of the best introductory scenes Gundam has ever offered up. Just, goddamn, way to leave an impression. And right from the get-go, I always loved the mix-up for the franchise, in doing away with the stock weapon sound effects. The airier, "sparkly" sounds applied to the standard GN Beam shots in the series sound straight up divine, like precision spears of lightning from the heavens as young Soran could attest to.
