Just curious, what's your favorite mobile suit? I don't think anyone's brought that up for a while. Mine would have to be the OG 0079 design for the Z'Gok. There's something really interesting about the stumpy body, the bendy arms, and the huge claws.

I honestly prefer Beltorchika's Children. Spoiler: Beltorchika's Children Spoilers The Nightingale... Hathaway kills Quess... Amuro as anything other than a career soldier...
On a side note, it's weird how Tomino created divergent timelines for his novels. I mean, it's clear that at the time of the original series and novels, he wasn't expecting to ever do a sequel. But he really closed the door on Amuro's story in a way that was impossible to ever follow up on.
I always prefer Beltorchika over Chan maybe because of the relationship build up and made more sense in the Beltochika CHildren version and She's more developedish than she was in Zeta.
Favourite suits would be RX-93 Nu, RGZ-91, Wing Zero Custom, GM Cannon II and V2. Oh, and the OG Gundam, of course. Any recommended series to watch as of late? I haven't watched a Gundam show since Build Fighters and the sequal. Edit: Forgot to mention NT-1 Alex. Absolutely love that Gundam.
I never understood why Beltorchika wasn't in CCA and why Amuro was going out with Chen. That made no sense to me.
A lot of time went by. It's not uncommon to be dating someone different than you were 5 or 6 years ago. And it's not like Amuro and Beltorchika had a particularly deep connection in Zeta anyway. It's a weird thing in anime fandom where anytime any two characters get together, fans expect that relationship to continue until death. It's especially weird when the characters are young.
Yeah, but... you at least expect a passing comment or something. We don't even get a "Well, it didn't work out" or anything, we just Amuro being with this new girl we'd never seen up until then and by the end she ends up being one of the stupidest deaths of the whole film.
How often at age 29 did you randomly comment to no one in particular about a girl you dated briefly when you were 24? Most relationships at age 24 don't work out. It's not worth commenting on.
Realistically, sure... but first of all this is anime and anime is dumb, so I expect the dumb notes to be touched upon, and really this is a movie about 2 people essentially fighting each other over a girl they both got killed 13 years ago anyway.
Okay, but Lalah is a completely different thing than some random chick that just happened to show up in Zeta. If Amuro hadn't died, I wouldn't expect him to still be with Chen in his 40s, either. But I would expect him to still communicate with and be haunted by Lalah.
Considering I've been with the same woman since I was 18 and I'm 38 now, I can't say. However, they aren't real people, something should have been mentioned about it because it's fiction. It seems quite weird that they set up a relationship for them in Zeta and then in CCA they're just broken up without any sort of exposition for the audience. Hell, the movie had a lot of pointless scenes to begin with, especially with Quess, surely they could have removed one of those time wasters and showed us a scene of Beltorchika with another man, perhaps still worrying about Amuro despite them being broken up or something, right?
And this is why I prefer the Beltorchika Children than the movie to avoid the break up part and I’m gonna reread the manga after rewatching ZZ.
You might want to send it to Tomino while he was writing CCA as well since the man clearly had no idea how to structure his movie.
