I prefer the EW designs, but Heavyarms is looking better than I expected. And I'd forgotten about the cool arm knife... Well, Freedom and Exia turned up. I had to remind myself that these weren't the models I usually dealt with. Once I had accepted them for being what they actually were, I started to like them more. Freedom's pretty good, and looks nice, especially with the wings outspread (attaching them made the figure a lot more imposing), though the backpack gets a bit loose. I found I prefer it posed simply with the wings open, holding the rifle in one hand and the double beam sabre in the other (though I would have preferred transparent red beams like the ones on the models. Still, the painted pink ones make it look different. (and is it me, or are pink bladed weapons a thing with Japanese mecha?)) Usually, with the models, I'm displaying Freedom in full weapons out mode (not to mention the shield). It's definitely one of those figures that looks best on a flight stand. I'd been more concerned about Exia, going by comments I've read about it, but I actually like it as well. I probably would have liked it to be slimmer, but I'm guessing using the same inner frame as other figures in the line involves compromises. One thing that caught me by surprise was the right 'shooting finger' hand. I'd forgotten the GN Sword was also a gun, so I imagine it makes sense. Poseabilty definitely could have been better, but it's good enough for me. I've never really displayed my figures in super acrobatic poses, anyway. As long as it's not a floppy mess, I'm good. The hands on my Exia hold the GN Blades a bit loosely. I'm guessing it's because they've been reused from other figures in the line, and IMO, are designed more for holding guns and 'regular' rounded beam sabre handles. On the plus side, I've got a collection of spare hands, if I need them. Now, going back to Gundam Universe Exia's apparent weight gain, when the large GN Sword is fully extended, I find it less noticeable. In fact, it kind of seems appropriate, considering the size of the weapon it's wielding. All in all, I like both figures. Hopefully, Bandai continues with this line.
Based on this: Still want to get Tamashii rock effect gray. Also need to get (find) Deathscythe who(m) is in storage.
Every wave has had one Wing mobile suit. Hopefully the next wave has Shenlong. If not maybe another Endless Waltz suit?
Sí señor. Wave 1 - Wing Gundam Wave 2 - Deathscythe Wave 3 - Wing Zero Custom Wave 4 - Sandrock Wave 5 - Heavyarms
I'm just waiting for ff figs: - Shen Long - Epyon - EW Wing suits I'm done. If they make additional suits from Seed like Justice, Aegis, Buster, Duel AS and Blitz and Providence I'll stay on the line.
Decided on this diorama: Not really feeling the backdrop I've been using. I'll have to wait for next month (payday).
here's official line up for wave 7 Tamashii Nations Announces Next Wave of Gundam Universe Figures Shen Long Sazabi Master Gundam Shen Long is a sure shot Now I'm in the fence whether to get RX-93 and the very weak figure of God Gundam just to compliment Sazabi and Master
Yes to Master Gundam and Shenlong. Master Gundam - Sazabi - This wave is expected in May. My diorama is expected around the 22nd. The setup so far:
Wait, they actually painted the orange on the doors? Huh, that makes a huge difference actually. It looks a lot more complete and a lot less cheap. Helps that Heavyarms has brighter colours by default and no should-be clear parts by design.
