My daughter bought me Wing for Christmas. I was always looking at it in the stores but never bought it. She decided she had to get it for me, so that was really cool. It's a decent figure. Haven't really had a chance to mess with it much yet, but overall it's nice. That's the only one I really want now. Always loved that design.
Tamashii has updated their site with pics of wave 3 figures: Wing Zero Custom Ez8 Strike Gundam GUNDAM UNIVERSE(ガンダムユニバース) | 魂ウェブ
Didn't notice that. They really are trying to be to cheap with this line. I can't imagine it would kill their profit margines to include sabers with those figures.
With the scaling kicked to the curb and missing weapons, this line reeks of BoA moreso than Bandai Japan. This line does good things but is tempered with questionable decisions, which sink the line for me. Box art is more awesome than the toys.
To me they look nice. But having them in hand, the old MSiA figures were much better all around. Better articulation, better accessories, etc. As someone said they feel very BoA or Mattel to me.
Emphasis on "Relative", the peculiar non-scale of MSiA figs lent to some issues with accessories, such as oversized weapons and other secondary equipment. As such I don't feel like the line has kept near as well as some other people say, but I'm finding it difficult to see enough improvement in this line either. EZ8 is about the most enticing thing I'm seeing right now and that's not saying much.
It's a reference to the design liberties taken, since it's so angular and stylized compared to the actual 4th form. I have to agree. Deathscythe didn't exactly disappoint me, but I'd be lying if I said I've even picked it up since placing it on the shelf. I'm only getting Ez8 because it's one of my all-time favourite MS. I mean, they sorted out the articulation issues, but this line is just kinda... plain. The lack of transparent plastics where necessary and the limited hand options feel cheap even if they don't necessarily take away from the figures. It's not so much that the line is doing anything wrong, it's just not doing anything exciting. It's not quite pick up and play, but it's not quite right for display.
*First time posting in this thread* I see you guys are up to speed, here's the Dengeki Hobby article 可動性が進化した「GUNDAM UNIVERSE」第3弾!『SEED』ストライクガンダムや『ガンダムW』ウイングガンダムゼロ(EW)、『第08MS小隊』ガンダムEz8が参戦
The line doing scale wrong for the suits themselves is the big thing that sank it for me. Especially after seeing Unicorn Destroy mode at the same height/size as the RX-78 and Wing 1. Wing 1 is supposed to be the shortest of the 3, Unicorn the tallest. Might just stick to kits and RD. I'm all for a very sturdy, highly articulated line at a more affordable price point, just not compromised like this.
God, Tallgeese, and Nu and Heavyarms (silhouette teasers only). These figs are about 1" taller than Damashiis, and I've already got Wing Zero and EZ-8 on preorder. Have no idea what they're like, but they seem really cool. Wouldn't mind seeing more Endless Waltz designs.
^I had a Walgreen coupon so I decided to test them out. No clue on the fiction but they are a pretty decent little action figure. The legs look a bit long but maybe that's a character trait. Anyway, same Walgreens had the Unicron, whoops Unicorn guy and I might have to pick him up as well, I wouldn't want ole' 78 to be lonely.
It actually is. It's pretty typical to render mecha, especially Gundam, with longer legs relative to the body. It's practically how Hajime Katoki pays his rent.
the RX-78-2 have issues with it's eyes. every stock I see in the stores, the eyes and forehead cover isn't align at least 95%. wtf Bandai? packaging issues or assembly issues?
