I'm trying to make a list of all the TF's (realistic - no sixshots and transformable - no prime accesories, only) that have a gun alt mode. Since i bought the re-issue black Megatron a few years back i've had a certain fasination with the gun tf's, and have been collecting them, I plan to have one of each mold initially, and eventually one of each release.

I just wondered if you guys could help me build a list of what gun tf's there are, so far i own:

    Re-issue Black Megatron
    Bookbox Megatron
    Magnum (GiG release)
    Choro-Q Megatron
    WST Megatron
Browning (Loose, blue legged, possibly masterforce version)

To my knowledge that covers every tf gun mold except the one based on the Goodbye Megatron mold (the one lacking the molding to allow the stock to be attached). But i'd eagerly like to know of any other molds i;m missing.

Of the other gun tfs there are, i know of:

Megatron (G1 and Japanese, reissue, ehobby, both microman molds and 'goodbye' edition)
    Magnum (Normal Takara release)
Browning (Microman (boxed) and Masterforce versions + colour variations)

Anyone know of anything i'm missing on that list? And i'd be interested to know of any other Magnum owners out there, nobody ever seems to talk about him...

There's the original Japanese Megatron, that just came with the chrome sword and gun. No Scope and no other attachments. I believe the "Goodbye" Megs has the scope and the bits on his arm to attach it...

That's the only other one that I can thik of off the top of my head. Only other ones I can think of are the unrealistic ones... SHOCKWAVE, Sixshot, Quickswitch, Arm. Laserbeak, etc.

I think that's all of them. Virtually all the rest were more sci-fi.

Incidentally, I think it's the Microman version, but I've never been sure, but I've got a Browning in my collection that has red on the inside of the legs instead of the blue the TF version has. Probably a pre-TF version, but I've never been sure beyond the fact he is Browning in some form.

Always wanted the Magnum one and a Browning, pre-TF or TF, doesn't matter.

Maybe if I stopped buying so many damn clones...

That is indeed Microman. There was also a completely gold plated Browning. I can't read Japanese, but my book indicates it was released in 83.

Magnum is my dream Pre-Transformer. I found one to buy in really nice condition, but it's for $300 and I haven't been able to commit to that kind of change.

Also, I have a boxed (crappy-ish box) KO Browning. It's a "ROBOGUN" and seems to be 100% complete and identical to everything listed at the tfu.info page for TF Browning. Except it's Red on the legs rather than blue. Still awesome. None of the bullets have been fired or removed from the sprue, but I'm so tempted....

Yup, that's all. I've been able to secure all of them myself except for the Good-bye Megatron one.

And if you can, snag the Magnum. It is an awesome figure and well worth adding to any collection. :thumbs2:

Yeah the magnum is by far the most realistic Microchange item. I was absolutely amazed when I first held it.

Browning would have made a much better Megatron.

Nah, Browning is too small in stature, and generally doesn't look that dangerous in robot mode. He's a little taller than the Insecticons, which would still make him the tiniest Decepticon outside of the tapes in the '84 assortment.
Magnum, however, might have done well as a leader in place of the Megatron we got. Why he never got brought over is a good question, but the fact Megatron is the only realistic gun toy in the line suggests Hasbro decided pretty quickly that gun toys were a bad idea.

Didn't know about the size thing. I've never seen a comparison pic before. I do like the bot mode a hella lot better the ol Megs.

Heh, no arguements there! Browning is much better proportioned in bot mode, sizewise he comes up to about the waist
He's a very nicely scaled little toy, in my opinion he's the perfect size for his complexity and design.

well I'll be. I've had goodbye megatron for 3 years, and never assembled him, and didn't realize he didn't come with the stock. here's some pics to add to the gun goodness:

Magnum would've been much too hard to, um, plaster with toy stickers. It is so realistic, right down to the size, they had to know they would run into problems with that. The P-38 seemed to be the best balance of toy and realism.

Browning has the most play value imo. Shooting fists, laser cannons it can hold in hands and on shoulders. A generally more fun robot to play with I think.

Looking at that pic, I can see why they chose the mold they did. Browning may be better proportioned, but he's a puny little guy. Megs with that big cannon on his arm looks much more dangerous and badass.

I broke down and decided to get that Magnum I mentioned earlier. Now I just gotta wait. I'm so excited :)  I'm definately going to be posting pics and size comparisons.
