... kicks ass, and is actually worth the inflated price ($10 over retail) if you find it at EB/GameStop.

No seriously. It's that good. It's also as crazy difficult as you want it to be -- you can snore through on Easy, or feel your jaw hit the floor on Hard. I imagine Ted Nugent will jump out from your TV, rip out your soul, and use it for a whammy bar if you try Expert.

Supposedly, it's also playable with a normal controller (bwahahahahahahah). Yeah, you want the guitar controller.

The more I hear about it and see the more I'm tempted to buy it. But I'd never play it for more than a few days so I have to keep reminding myself of that.

I bought this a week ago and had to wait until my friend came over with his PS2 earlier today to play it. I still don't have the system, but loved the game so much in Best Buy that I ordered the game and 2 guitars from Red Octane's site (which is cheaper and more available than in stores, shipping is pretty fast too). GREAT stuff!!! :rock  :rock  :rock  So much fun to pretend-rock out and I love most of the songs that are on there. Multiplayer is a blast with 2 guitars. I just need to unlock more stuff on the higher difficulty modes. This is a game begging for a sequel as there can never be enough songs for it.

The more I hear about the game, the more I'm tempted to get it. I'm sure I will when my tax refund comes at least.

I played it several times at Best buy. Damn fun game... and i hate DDR type games. Yet i loved this one. Guess it is the rockin guitar controller that makes all the difference..

I've been waiting and hoping for a PC version ever since I played it in-store. I was only going to play one song, but it was just so much fun... I'm sure I was annoying the guy behind the counter. I stayed for half an hour.

Looks like it will be on sale at Best Buy this week at least for $70, since it's in the Sunday ad. Worth every penny!

BTW, my band's name is Segadeth!!!

Guitar Hero? isn't that an arcade game often coupled with Drum/Beat Mania/cs. If so I am glad that its being ported for home play but I liked the drum part more.

Nope ... I think you're referring Guitar Freaks by Konami (who do all the games you're referring to under their Bemani brand.)

It was funny ... some folks from Konami and Wavegroup (the company that recorded the sound-alikes for Guitar Hero and Karaoke Revolution) visited my school a while back. They were demoing Beatmania (which is apparently coming here this Spring). I asked them point blank why Konami never brought Guitar Freaks to the states, esp. in light of Guitar Hero's success. It was fun watching them squirm, but the marketing guy did point out that he'd tried repeatedly to get Konami to do it, without success.

Oddly enough, there appear to be preorders for Guitar Freaks and Beatmania controllers on import sites now, scheduled for ... this Spring. If Konami has even half a brain left, they'll make sure Guitar Freaks and the controller aren't import-only, come Spring.
