I wonder if he collects such stuff as pre-transformers (Diaclone and Micro Change, etc.), as well as unofficial third-party figures?[IMG]

Also, pics or it didn’t happen.

Thanks! I honestly don’t know. I know there were about 2000 comics. A small portion were non-figures, but then the rest were figures. I have everything from G1 to the first Bay movie and then the majority after that. I have a lot of Japanese and European items too.

I believe there is some misinformation out there. I’ve seen a lot of people say how much it costs to do this. The reality is that you can do it for free. They do have things you can pay for, but they’re not mandatory. You have the option to expedite both the application and the approval. If you don’t do this, then it takes about 12 weeks for each one. You can also pay to have someone come out and watch the count. However, you now have the option to video everything and provide the proof for the reviewer. If someone comes out, then you pay. If not, then there is no cost.

That said, I definitely paid to have the collection lol.

Thank you for the comment and the mention of the rarities!

The majority are actual open. They just used the boxed pictures

    I don’t. I actually exercise considerable restraint.

I have no doubt people have more than me. This was just a fun accomplishment for me. I’m sure you have an amazing collection too! I also love protos.

My centerpiece are the prototype G2 Stunticons I bought from the Hartmans when they sold their collection. Those have always been an amazing piece of history for me.

I also have the G2 Jazz and Soundwave laser cycles that were used in the Toy Fair shoot.

I collect everything. Not so much pre-TFs, but I do have a few.

That's an amazing massive lot wonderful robot goodness. I started collecting around the same time. The bug can wane sometimes, but it always drags me back in. I hope you still have your original Hoist. A lot of the fun for me are the stories that go along with great "finds"....and the great friends you make along the way.

    Thank you!

I do have Hoist and he’s pictured in the pic of me. He’s front and center! I have a few of my original from when I was a kiddo.

100% it’s all about the experience and friendships you make. I love conventions just for that!

your boxed collection infuriates me, because it looks like the toystore I dream about and know is forever unattainable.

Now this is the kind of news I like waking up to read!

Congratulations @Kaye on the amazing collection. An impressive feat to be sure! When I look at your collection I see years of love, passion, friendships, community and family all embodied in 10,000 little plastic figures. Being a collector can be a wonderful thing and you have obviously done it right.

But, being the record holder does come with responsibilities. Namely, showing off the goods!

Seriously though, congrats again. I hope you're doing something fun to celebrate!

    Oh, there he is. Fantastic!
I do think it's time to revive BotCon. I went to the last one and had a blast! I have a feeling that you're going to be quite busy fielding comments today! Ha!

We have this section on the boards for people to showcase their collections. Yours would definitely be one many people would enjoy pouring over:

Ha! I’m trying to answer what I can, but yes, a lot out there today.

You know, I was featured on TFW2005 in the early 2000s. I wonder if it’s still up.

Glad to hear this. Life's too short to leave everything boxed up and unplayed with.

Congrats @Kaye, love that G2 representation! Give that G2 Electro a nice, gentle pat for me! On second thought, maybe you shouldn't even look at it ha ha

Thank you! I’m not sure if you read through the comments, but he was our mascot. I shipped a loose one from NC and it shattered. We took it in stride and made it the mascot for “breaking” the record. I bought the MOC to celebrate at the end of the process.
