I never understood the whole "He raped my childhood!" or "He ruined my fond memories of so and so!" argument. I mean how the fuck could somebody ruin something that already happened? Even if he did somehow manage to change something that happened in the past, it would alter the timeline, and your memories of so and so being a certain way wouldn't exist anyway.

I mean c'mon! If you're gonna be a butt-hurt, whiny, manchild, at least put some logic into it! lol

 

Hey Micheal Bay may not be the perfect director but you gotta admit he makes the best action scenes and explosions unlike other directors out there also he makes great 3D action sequences, also there are other directors that also ruined your childhood so why hate on Bay when there are other directors you can hate.

To be completely honest, I never grew up with G1. Bay IS my G1. I like the Bay movies, don't get me wrong...but I am also more keen to the 80's. Movies, Music, Style, and even Cartoons. Sure, the movies are alright...but the character development isn't all that great. Example, the piece of shit Shockwave that was in DOTM. On the up side, I do think this new trilogy will be better.

 

Pick up a figure of Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, throw them at a wall, shoot off fire works with them attached. Roll credits. #TF5.

I honestly agree with you.
I am one of these older men but I don't get all upset over new ideas for old favourites.
I loved G1 soooooo much growing up with it as a kid. I also loved ninja turtles sooooo much ever since I saw the first episode after coming home from primary school. But that was then and this is now. PC's, laptops, microwaves, DVDs, Blueray, Bluetooth, digital TV, cell phones, didn't exist back then but I tell ya, I wont give up those new ideas. Everything moves forward and stuff changes. For good or bad. Cant live in the past.

And honestly, baby turtles that turn into human sized teenage turtles after walking through toxic goop is soooo believable!!!!! NOT

 

You do have to wonder if some people have experienced real problems in their lives lol

 

It's like you get married right and you liked it then someone attacks you wearing a wedding dress the positive memories of the original wedding are then ruined forever..

Michael Bay is a bit like that for some people, I suspect Psycho fans don't love him either.

But stomping on Optimus Prime and stealing his Rubik's Cube - that is intolerable behaviour, I say !!

 

I love G1 too, but I'm not old.

We need new and different stories for franchise like transformers or it would get old fast! That's why people get bored of optimus dying. We need new ideas. Not replaying the old ones so many times it becomes stale.
