I once dated a girl that had never dated a guy with a beard before. She expected it to be rough like stubble. She was suprised at how soft it was and quite enjoyed rubbing it. I can't say I minded too much myself. It felt kinda good.

Anybody want to see a pic of me with my beard?

Your best long term solution to unwanted hair is electrolysis. Although it is expensive and it is primarily for smaller areas (women's upper lip, bikini area) It provides the best results.

Laser is for larger areas such as chest and back. It is typically less effective, but overall cheaper than electrolysis. I should note that neither method can claim to truely remove the hair. At best it will reduce the follicle to the point where the hair is very fine and barely noticable. This will take numerous sessions to achive.

Waxing and plucking offer far better short term results than shaving, but they do not reduce the follicle. They give the appearance that the hair is more fine because the hair growing back in is at a point, where as when you shave, you create a blunt end. The pointed end also creates more chance of ingrown hair which can be pretty painful and ugly looking. Plucking inreases the chance of scarring and infection, so I would avoid it.

I am one of those "baby face" types but my gf don't mind. In fact she complains when I have too much facial hair (that's after a week of not shaving btw) even though it's barely there. I guess I should be thankful of not having to shave every day or worry about back hair. Heck even my younger brother has more facial hair than I do.

Lately it seems I tend to go either just under my lip(guess like a soul patch or something like that), or that 5 o'clock stubble look. Used to grow goatees, but I dunno, seems as though I look better with the stubble. I know others have said I look pretty good with it too. I doubt I'll ever grow it out into a beard though.

I've got the mustache and goatee going on. I grew my beard all the way out, then working with my girl shaved parts till I found something we both liked.

Well, in some situations, it's a better fit.

I believe that was officially dubbed the Fred Durst Effect about five years ago.

Me, I do have to shave every day, but it's not thick all-encompassing beardness. If I were to actually grow it all out, it would be all patchy and stupid, not that I'd want to anyway. I do have a major babyface though; I still get carded for cigarettes for fuck's sake.
I fucking hate shaving though. Never found a good electric one so I had to resort to lather and disposables. When they come up with some sort of electrolaserdealiebopper that zaps all the hair off your face so that you never have to shave again, sign me up.

I can grow a full on Grizzly Adams in a week. I hate it. I'm thinking about going for that Joe Dirt look, but it would take too long to grow a mullet.

I can grow an alright goatee, but my girlfriend hates it. Infact she hates all facial hair, even the slightest stuble. It's not my fault I'm so manly! Personally I don't really mind facial hair one way or the other. Although one day I will try to grow a beard worthy of Shipwreck.

If I could I'd grow a Shipwreck level beard but it just won't work, curse my mother's genes. My dad had an awesome beard, and my big brother has a 'tache but my attempt at facial hair is basically the goatee without the 'tache part. It's weird, it doesn't appear to be the one colour, some of the hairs are really light. Fucking genes.

I have had a mustache since 5th grade (Except for one unfortunate trimming incident that forced me to shave it off or have a Hitler mustache for a few days) and most of the time since I have had a beard since I am too lazy to shave more than once a week or so and my job doesn't really require it. I'd rather not have to bother so I'd take the baby face if I could. I let my beard get really long once and it was just a pain in the butt. Plus if I don't trim my mustache for a couple of weeks I can rip hairs of it out with my teeth. Not to mention looking like the wolfman on my arms, legs, etc.

I've got a beard, I've had it for about 5 years. Partially as something I tried (part baby-face, part tradition), and because I'd have a five 'o Clock shadow by 11 am.

I keep mine trimmed rather short nowadays, I like it.

I have a full on Commander Riker beard now. The girls seem to dig it, and I think I look wiser (even though I'm far from it).
