im lost for words so all ill say is
ME GALVATOM LIKE
Excuse me while I drool all over my keyboard
Oh now THIS is why I would love to see a G1 CGI cartoon or game.
Thanks d00d. I'm pretty happy with how he's turning out.
I haven't decided yet whether the red and gold parts are painted or not; at the moment, it's a "generic" version of the texture, to be fully tweaked afterwards.
The lighting setup is ridiculously sijmple, as it goes; it's just 2 spotlights with intensity falloff, and an HDRI image used for a backdrop (for reflections).
Heh. The Dino mode pic is indeed a WIP; I was going for a more "mean" looking pose. It should looka lot better when the tail is thrashing about behind him
Way ahead of you, man. The pieces to articulate the dino mode "ankles" aren't finished yet; The end of each robot mode arm is a separate piece already, but nothing else is set up yet.
Outstanding stuff, and still only a WIP...absolutely a-mazing.
Amazing stuff as always
Can't say I'm a fan of the battle damage (stylistic choice really) but that is one of the most well done computer models I've seen in a very long time.
That beast mode looks vicious, and the robot mode looks great too. Would have been so cool if this was in Redemption.
Hawt and sexy like always
I like the slimmed down look of that Grimmy. A bulky Grimmy would give off a "HULK SMASH!" feel. Your slimmer Grimmy makes him seem like a skilled fighter. I could totally see him quickly taking down a big Decepticon like he wasn't even trying.
Exactly; I wanted my version of Grimlock to look like the horrendously badass warrior he was always made out to be in the comics. If later episodes of Redemption ever do get made (MasterOfPuppets, he cameos in episode 2, and is introduced properly in episode 3), you'll see what I mean.
You did a good job on my favorite transformer. I must say that dino-mode is the coolest form i've ever seen. I guess you still need to work on it more, but it still looks so great, and it's easy to tell you're enjoying making grimlock the way you picture him. Keep it up!
A few proto style pics:
f'ing amazing that is sooooo kewl!!!
That's one hard-ass, eat-your-face-off-and-spit-in-what's-left kinda 'bot...can't wait to see him in action.
You can say that again
I love the Wildman style head, very cool.
Awsome! Grimlock was one of the first TF's I ever modelled back in 1999.
Is the embossed Autobot symbol on the elbow joint a bump map or is it actually modelled in?
Everything you see in the pics is modelled.
