Ever since Grimlock was first revealed, I had a nagging feeling that he reminded me of a different dinosaur...

Then it hit me: A Carnotaurus! He's got the horns and the thick snout and everything!

    Pictures for comparison:

You need to look more closely. Grimlock has horns, yes, but Tyrannosaurus is clearly the basis for his Dino mode. Carnotaurus is a very, very, very different beast with its bulldog muzzle and comically sized arms.

It even says "T-rex mode" on the back of the box, so there's that...

    Spoilers:

He's actually just a giant robot who happens to be in a shape similar to a t-rex.

    Shocking, I know.

Well, there's no way I can call it a T.rex without laughing to myself.

He's a horned Tyrannosaurus Rex. It's not like him and the other Dinobots are meant to be so scientifically accurate.

Jeez, apart from kaiserlisk (thanks for the info), I didn't expect this much asshole-ish ness.

Shows what I get for going in the movie forum.

Strafe has two heads, and Slag (Slug) has chin horns.

NONE of the Dinobots are going to be that scientifically accurate. And that's okay.

Science doesn't matter when something is sufficiently awesome.

Its not an asshole response. Its a TIRED response. This topic has been brought up dozens of times. People are tired of it.

Did you check to see if anyone else had made a thread about the same topic?

He's just a generic carnosaur. Yeah, he may have horns, but those alone don't make for a Carnotaurus, especially since the horns aren't in the right place, don't go in the right direction, as wells as non-horn things like the snout size. This really is both a non-debate and a non-issue, seeing other dinos in this film features a multi-finned Spineosaur, a two-headed Pterosaur, a Ceratopsian with jawhorns and teeth, etc...

Yeah I was gonna say, he looks like one of the antagonist dinosaur from the old Dinosaur movie. Loved that movie too. I had a cat named Aladar because of that film lol.
