Ok, day four using Google Sketchup and I think I'm getting more comfortable with the program. I designed this multi-grenade launcher, put a 5mm hole in the top for weapon storage and a 3mm clip point on the scope. I'm still having trouble uploading the designs to Shapeways, though. Since I'm using Google Sketchup I have to convert the designs from .skp to .obj using Babel3D. I choose mm when I upload the designs (It did work when I used cm, but the design came out oversized and would have cost me 90 bucks) and I get this message from Shapeways: If anyone can help me figure out how to properly upload my designs I would be very grateful! I've got more than a few ideas that I would love to see come to fruition.
When I finish up my sketchup designs, I port them over to Meshlabs to tuen it into an stl file. After that, I then port it over to Netfabb to fix any issues with the render. I've had 100% success since doing this. and a fyi, once saved in meshlabs, it will convert your file into inches so when you upload to Shapeways, upload it in inches format.
Mind taking a stab at making a BFG gun for Gen. Warpath, but heres the kicker can you design it to fit in both his fist folded out in bot mode and when his fists is folded in. This would give him an impressive arm cannon. Just a thought!
Yeah, I can give it a try! I've been practicing with a few ideas lately, but nothing that's come to fruition....a Goldbug head, a Marlboor head, sectional sword, etc.
