They might, he may still be under contract for a sequel from the previous movie and they wouldn't have to negotiate his pay. Plus he's really popular after Deadpool now and they may think that alone will bring in an audience.
Remember these are the people who think a Black Adam solo movie will do well and Luthor was an effective bad guy in Batman V Superman.
They seem to be more about making executive changes than they are about plot and story structure. The last two movies seem to have been edited by committee and it shows.

I think Jake Gyllenhaal is the best choice from that list. Bradley Cooper would be good too.

If they could snag Cooper, that would be great. Though, he might be happy enough voicing Rocket for Marvel.

I'm hesitant to admit it, but I think Armie Hammer could actually work for Jordan (but then I do think very little of Hal Jordan as a character, so maybe that's telling).

From the IMDB list, I can maybe see Armie Hammer as Hal Jordan. But overall, I think they could come up with some better choices of actors.

Well to be honest some of the choose are actually great as their mendable roles, everyone remembers the last time that James Marsden was in a DC Film, & lastly personally I still that Tom Cruise is make a great Two-Face. As who-ever is cast as Hal Jordan Green Lantern be that the really best one ever made.

Green Lantern Corps May Have Found Its Director

According to The Hashtag Show, Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) is attached to the DC Extended Universe release, which is being written by David S. Goyer and Justin Rhodes.

The website has purported character descriptions for the film, which has been described as “Lethal Weapon in space,” with an older Hal Jordan serving as a mentor to John Stewart:

Hal Jordan: Caucasian, 39 – 50. A former military test pilot, he is now a veteran of the Green Lantern Corps.

John Stewart: African- American male, 21 – 30. Prior to joining the Green Lantern Corp, he was a sniper in the military.

So Hal's the vet and John's the rookie hotshot. A curious but interesting reversion of roles IMO.

That's how it originally was both John,Guy, and Kyle are always 2nd to Hal. Jon Stewart used to be more of a hot shot. He grew up after his wife was killed, he was captured an tortured, and he failed to save a whole planet.

Wow, going with an older Hal? Didn't expect that. I wonder if we'll see a return of the graying temples on the sides of his head.

Like the idea of them trying again with GL...

Was that a joke about Ryan Reynolds being considered tho? I wouldn't have imagined they'd get him back for Hal? :lol

But guessing he's 'too young' for the older Hal anyway.

Rupert Wyatt? I'm intrigued. Rise of the Planet of the Apes was one hell of a revival of its franchise after one severely bad turkey, for sure.

Is it time to speculate actors for the roles? Michael B Jordan would be good as Jon. I think he's a great actor. I can't think of anyone right now for Hal.
