Yeah, he's not the most promising piece in this... Still, Green Lantern Corps. is the direction I always thought they should take this. If they keep it in space for at least 99.9% of the movie, I'm certain it will be better than the first GL movie... and might even be good. Maybe.
Let me know which Lanterns and which saga they're adapting. I've been waiting for a live-action GL John Stewart and Alan Scott (Scott is a magical Lantern, but he's my favourite and I'd love to see him appear).
'Green Lantern Corps' Movie Writers Set, Key Characters Confirmed "The film will focus on popular comic book Green Lanterns Hal Jordan (who was played by Ryan Reynolds in the ill-fated 2011 movie) and John Stewart, one of DC's most prominent African-American heroes. The film is being produced by Goyer, with DC's Geoff Johns and Jon Berg exec producing." Excellent that Johns and Stewart are in this!
I like the idea of "Lethal Weapon in space" with Hal Jordan and John Stewart. As long as it takes a more lighthearted and fun approach and leaves the gritty psuedo-realism of the rest of the DCEU behind, I think this could actually be a lot of fun.
YAY! JOHN STEWART!!!!!! he was my favorite lantern growing up (thanks to the justice league cartoons) and i hope they make this movie great! (i actually liked the 2011 movie, btw)
I would ditch Hal Jordan. If it's going to be a buddy cop movie, have it be John Stewart and Katma Tui.
So John will be in it? Cool. I've not seen many stories with or about GL, but from what I have, I prefer John over Hal.
If you want "Lethal Weapon In Space", why not just get Shane Black? With Goyer involved, you're shooting for closer to "*TV's* Lethal Weapon In Space"...
The corps was everything wrong with the first film. And now it's going to be a passing of the torch type of movie. Very very disappointed already.
The Corps was the only parts of the first film that weren't terrible. The parts with the Corps and Sinestro that got cut kept the movie from almost being halfway decent.
Actually if they're doing it as a buddy cop movie in space this would be a perfect opportunity to do something with some gritty realism while the surrounding environment is bright and interesting. Of course they could still fuck it up.
First Flight had a good mix of that during Hal's and Sinestro's mission. On the alien gangster planet.
Aye. First Flight would make for a decent template here. Lethal Weapon in space sounds like a great idea. But man am I super cautious with Goyer involved. I wish they'd source some more writers
