Wasn't everyones biggest gripe about the suits? The only other thing that killed that trailer for me was Blake Deadly's horrible line delivery.

yep, because most folks don't realize that most movie/film teasers/trailers do not contain finalized shots/finished CGI effects from the final cut that will be seen by the public.

If a studio puts something out, they have to realize that it's going to be criticized. They can't say "Shut up, it's not done" if they said "It's done enough to be seen."

For that kind of arrogant move, they deserve all the criticism they get. Unfinished CGI or shots have no place in an advertisement to endear your work to the public.

    o__O?

its been that way since like forever

RebelMan's right. The only thing GL had against it was that some of the shots were a little more obvious.

i didnt think the CGI looked terrible, to be honest. i dont think the final shots will be all THAT much different either

the problem people have is with the design of the suit. not the quality of the CGI, IMO

    Geoffrey Rush is Tomar-Re

"Geoffrey Rush is back in the mode of demanding teacher — but instead of a king’s speech therapist, the Aussie actor will be Tomar-Re, a bird-beaked alien who teaches Ryan Reynolds’ character how to use his new cosmic powers in "Green Lantern."

Warner Bros. is expected to officially announce Thursday that the 59-year-old Oscar winner is giving voice to the CG-created member of theGreen Lantern Corps."

Yeah, I remember back when the first Hulk movie was out and the CGI for Hulk wasn't finished, and it received alot of criticisms for it. I think it even carried over to when the film was released, because it was perceived as a box office disappointment which led to the reboot TIH years later.

i think that's what the build-a-figure(BAF) of Parallax is going to look like since you get a piece of him with every GL character movie-verse toy

i saw another version late last night of a completely different Parallax toy that is packaged with another version GL Hal Jordan that looks like it is able to swallow/house the Hal toy & if you push something on it it causes Parallax to explode into separate sections causing Hal to fly out.

The trailers for Transformers, Thor, Avatar, and Captain America have no shot on them I would peg as unfinished; as a member of the public. Any scene with a Green Lantern suit on the GL trailer, stands out a mile away.

    This pleases me :)

You must be talking about the two pack, the two pack with Krona's face being used as Parallax's face.

4 Clips shown at CinemaCon of Green Lantern:

The first clip begins with the title "Sector 2018" and we see Abin Sur using some fancy light-based controls on his ship and communicating with Mark Strong's Sinestro, who is telling him about a planet that's been destroyed by Parallax, but before getting too far into the conversation, Abin Sur is attacked by Parallax--we can't see it too clearly but it looks like a large yellow head with sharp teeth--and he gets seriously injured before flying away in his glass cylindrical spaceship.

The second clip has Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan finding Abin Sur's spaceship in the water and he runs out to try to save the being he sees in there. He wades out and pulls Abin Sur out of the ship and carries him to the beach, making a joke about having to get him to a hospital where they have purple blood. After giving Hal his ring and telling him to use it with the lantern in his spaceship, Abin Sur dies and his body transforms into some sort of grey substance.

The third clip has Hal with the lantern and ring back at his place. He places the lantern on a table and then slips on the ring, following the instructions to insert his hand and recite the oath, but the only oath he remembers is the Pledge of Allegiance, so he tries a variation on that, but the lantern rejects it, pushing him away with a green blast. Suddenly, Hal knows the oath that's required and he recites it as the ring glows and he's transported into the sky with a green hue surrounding him, out into space away from earth and the Milky Way and towards the planet OA. When he lands, he's in his full Green Lantern suit and mask and he tries to act cool like he belongs there by strutting around. He's called over by Tomar-Re, voiced by Geoffrey Rush, who is basically the OA welcome wagon, and Hal is surprised that he can understand the creature in front of him, and Tomar Re explains that the ring is translating and that it can also create a mask or not depending on whether Hal's identity needs to be kept secret.

The last clip has Sinestro addressing the massive Green Lantern Corps collected to warn them about Parallax having killed four of their members. This is a giant open space filled with Green Lanterns with a giant Green Lantern symbol behind Sinestro, and this is probably the scene that's going to have the biggest fanboys soiling their trousers because there are so many of the great Green Lanterns we've seen in the comics over the years and probably more than a few easter eggs. We don't know enough of their names by heart to expound at length about who we saw, but we did see a very familiar robotic GL and possibly even an Alpha Lantern in there.

    YouTube - Green Lantern - Wonder-con Footage

    Wondercon footage released

Gives me much more hope than the trailer did. Having Reynolds not wear a physical suits and mask is looking like a worse and worse decision. It's really the only thing I don't like about the footage. The CG is apparently still a WIP (though much farther along), but what they're showing here is very ambitious and shows the film makers are trying to at least make something worth watching. Even if the end product ends up flat, I will never say they held back.

I think the new footage looks fantastic. Any doubt in my mind has been replaced with excitement.
