Does anyone else actually feel happy about the state of Transformers recently? At first I was worried that with the push of ROTF, that there would be nothing for fans like me to be interested in (classics, MP's G1, etc).
Now I save so much time not looking at the ROTF threads and am saving lots of money! I might even take a break from collecting until some cool stuff comes out again.
Anyone else here feel the same way?

I'm passing on most of the movie stuff, too. It's nice to sit back and just wait and save up for the last waves of Animated.

Between the sweet ROTF toys, Alternity, Encore, and the Device Label stuff (as well as the end of a toyline I didn't personally enjoy), I'm feeling terrific about where things are.

The fandom has really been showing its ugly side in recent months, so yeah that part is a bummer.

I'm picking up some last remnants of Classics and Henkei, then I go into a long hibernation. I don't buy movie line stuff; however, I still appreciate and am very fond of it.

I love how ugly the ROTF stuff is...means I don't want to buy it, and can devote money to Universe/Classics/Henkei stuff.

im skipping the movie stuff, dont much care for it, but since im new to collecting TF's i still have a ton of figs i want so im not really taking a break more so just starting my collection of TF's but i will say i want that superion with the fans project kit, that looks sweet. also i will pick up perceptor and the insecticons when they come out. anyone know a date on that? isnt it in like september?

anyway though i have most of the classics and universe line now, just need a bit more and ill be caught up. then im going to go after some more expensive stuff like the MP's and i really want a ultra magnus with his battle armor trailor, that thing is sweet.

Very much agree...ROTF figures are definitely warming shelves in my area...and I don't plan on buying any of them...my collecting has slowed WAY down and is now more focused on filling my G1/reissue gaps...I'm actually more happy with collecting at the moment...the only real "hunting" I'll have to do will be when reissue Insecticons & Perceptor are released...

Not really. Animate WAS my break, and aside from Universe, I'm ready for something good.

I went from no-ROTF to a few exclusives and new movie characters. There are a ton of passes, which is a pseudo-break from my normal buying for Universe/Animated/MP.

Yes, I'm very happy with the state of Transformers at the moment.

Really enjoying the ROTF figures thus far, they're great and Hasbro will be getting plenty of my money. :)

It's quite interesting how much enjoyment some people seem to get from saying they are not buying anything movie related though, seems to crop up in alot of threads.

..this hasn't gotten much to do with the topic discussed..but I hope you DO realise the reason they are shelfwarming right now is because people haven't seen the movie yet...right?

I bet there is going to be a mad run on the figures everywhere once people have watched the movie. That's how it went with the first movie. Most people only become aware the figures are there once they've seen the movie and see Transformers pop up everywhere all of a sudden (unlike many of us they haven't seen all the trailers, commercials, etc.)..and kids are only going to request the toys once they get out of the theatre all hyped up.

    Just saying. :)
