Will be interesting to see if they're going to modify bulldozers shoulder blades, and fixing devy's head flaps in combined mode. Definitely a good set at this price for a G2 repaint

 

You can always watch him with the sound off. another small difference I forgot to mention is the minor colour changes to things like the Elbows, and the cabin hinge. also his wrists do rotate on ball joints even if the hands don't open.

This is *exactly* my plan.

Well, not "fun" as much as a hope, because while I love Gravity Builder, some things on him are over engineered.

 

I ordered one a couple of weeks back. Looking forward to it. I know I shouldn't be expecting KBB/MBT quality, but by all accounts, this still seems like a good KO, and well worth the $16 cad shipped that I paid for it. I hope they do a good job on the rest of the team!

Nice. It's missing the repainted G1 styled(Universe?) Energon Devestator, and possibly the Micromaster and Robots in Disguise repainted versions, too.

Anyway, which one is the same height as a regular CW gestalt?

 

Maketoys Giant comes closest, though a tad on the short side if you use the PE hands and feet upgrade parts.

Here's an image of MT Giant punching a hole through Superion while Motormaster and Dragstrip rip the limbs off of his body and use them for his own.

 

I have not been able to find a picture of Gravity Builder with he non-Devastator CW Combiners. Anyone have one?

Not quite, but I have a picture of him with Giant, and then a picture of Giant with CW Bruticus. I tried to scale the pictures so Giant is about the same height in both.

So I just got this guy in, and I must say.. Wow. I didn't realize how big he was. For some reason, I expected a MT Giant size Scrapper. Definitely simplified, but it's not terrible. I'd say it's similar simplification to the OS TFC Aerialbots, but not as bad. Similar parts were used, like tons of ball joints, but he still maintains things like ankle tilt, stable when he's tabbed together (at least in leg mode), etc. Would I have been upset at getting this toy for ~$100. Yep, but definitely not for the price! Quality is pretty good; actually, the plastic feels good. Better than what I can get from Hasbro for < $15 shipped.

Paint apps aren't bad, but the translucent pieces are an eyesore. This is a good toy on it's own, but will be outstanding custom fodder when the rest of the team is made... may even move into the collectible space if you're a good customizer.

 

Fwiw, if you tab the gun into storage in alt mode, it secures alt mode really well.

 

Mine tabs fine regardless of if the gun is in place or not the only exception to that is the knees might bend and thus cause him to cave in the middle in vehicle mode if you are rough with it.

I like the Clear pieces very much - it's a bit like the TFC seacons have. I also like it as it make it look like an Energon toy somewhat.

I did some asking around and only the one currently appears on the release lists I was able to find - but i've not asked everyone yet - I think I need to trace the actual factory to find that info - but the sellers no nothing about any others yet - but that isn't surprising around Chinese New year. they need to re-hire and retrain people so I wouldn't expect more for a few months even.
