Her acting's just terribly hammy and over-the-top. Which kinda suits the Fish Mooney character, I suppose, but with the boat-and-kidnapping arc she's been thrown into, all her scenes are just eye roll inducing. (So simply killing that dude and taking his knife makes her the boss? OK... what's to stop anyone else from just doing the same to her while she sleeps?). I was hoping we'd take a break from her character as she's best used sparingly but no dice there. As someone else mentioned, the whole underground kidnapping stuff feels like an entirely different show and it's jarring.
You have to admit tho, for a 'write in' character, she's made her mark on the series, I like her fine, but all the Fish stories get a little old and I mentioned earlier, if she's not IN Gotham, her story could take a break. Of course, the Mr. Big that she's getting ready to meet, I'm thinking PROBABLY will turn out to be a Big-Time Gotham-ite. So hopefully that's the tie in.
Apparently Jeffrey Combs (Transformer Prime - Ratchet) shows up in tonights' episode, Hopefully he gives Fish a slap (he's the 'Mr Big').
My god.... Barbara is getting significant screen time this episode. Displaying how much this weak character brings the show down.
Soooo...WTF is this nonsense going on with Fish? Seriously, it feels..I don't know, very out of place especially given that it apparently takes place outside of Gotham.
So like I joked before about the director having a Jayda Stinkett Smith fetish... I think I might be psychic.
The "Red Hood Gang" was pretty neat. Also, there was further proof to my theory that Butch is a goddamn ninja.
So the episode was good, far better than the last two anyway..except for Fish's escapades which continues to be more and more F***Ed up and pointless. The episode really could've done without that subplot...and the subplot with Barbra and Selina...ugh...this show is just running all over the place with these subplots you need a road map to figure the story out.
Well, they were either going to take her eyes or kill her. I assume they needed BOTH eyes, so she eliminated that as an option. It was really the only move she had, and it was hardcore as shit.
