I'm now trained to carry the Taser at my jail. I have a word of advise for everyone. If an officer ever pulls one of those things on you, give up. Those things hurt like hell.
Oh heck no!!! We are required to get tased to use them. And where I work if your a Cpl or above you are required to be certified to carry them. My Lt is happy as heck cause she can pass hers off to me now.
I sure hope you exclaimed "DON'T TASE ME BRO!" before you got pwned. Also, out of interest, can you describe the experience with a bit more detail? How much did it hurt, how long were you incapacitated for, what was it like etc...
I know most(if not all) NYPD cops have to get tased while in the academy to see what it's like and see how to properly use it. All my cop friends all had to get hit with it while they were still learning, and they all said it hurt like hell. ...but they also said that they were shown vids of crackheads/big guys/whathaveyou that weren't even phased by them
Me too, when I was in the military. I see videos of people getting sprayed on their foreheads with their eyes closed. When I did it, I had to get sprayed into my open eyes. Quite the experience. I scrubbed the surface of my eyeballs with Ivory dishsoap to make the pain go away.
A buddy of mine I've known for a very long time, owns his own stungun and has fun using it on himself(he's also just a little bit cuckoo), all he does is twitch for a second, doesn't even come close to dropping him to the floor unless he's drunk as hell. It's also not uncommon for taser and pepper spray training to end up having to take it to see what it's like(fortunately you don't need to get shot to carry a gun).
There's a difference between pricking yourself with a stungun and likely stopping immediately and taking a 5 second taser cycle which you are not in control of. We all had to take it in Depot, then again when training on the X26.
I never said anything about only hitting himself with it for a split second and stopping immediately now did I?
Congrats, man. My eldest brother was a prison guard, before becoming a Chicago cop. You staying a guard, or using it as a stepping off point?
I was offered with one of my security jobs to get certified to carry pepper spray. As I was told I would have to be sprayed, I decided I wasn't at a point in my life when I wanted to be peppered.
