Here's the story... I sold a ML planet hulk by the end of September on ebay, to some guy in Peru, shipped it timely and the damn thing just sat on Peru's postal service since October 10th. By the end of October the guy complaints to ebay, and they just give him back the money...i then complaint to ebay because the item was IN the country postal service, and the buyer himself wrote that they told them that their service was really delayed. Ebay doesn't care, and sticks to their decision on November 7th.... the item was delivered on the November 5th!!!!!!! what the hell??????? i sent a message to buyer and the dude just doesn't care, it look too long... so pissed....so damn pissed....especially on a time of my life that money is tight as all hell.... vent finished...thanks for reading...
Yep. One of the reasons I very rarely sell on eBay anymore. But when I do sell I do not allow international buyers because of situations like this.
I'll never forget the guy who said that the Xenomorph that I sold to him on eBay was a KO. I bought the damn thing at TRU a week or 2 before selling it to him. I had to refund his money and because I had "no returns accepted" he didn't have to send it back to me. It was pure bullshit.
Huh? All you're saying is that a large seller can eat the loss. That seller is still getting screwed.
No. Just that larger sellers, being more of a business accepts that you will have to eat the loss of certain transactions. And they'll move the volume that they can eat it without much problem. Ebay's policies make it more of an online merchant platform. Not a sort of digital flea market that it started as.
You should try to call them, sucks. I once shipped an item for free, with out checking paypal. Turns out I never entered my paypal account when I listed the item, so I have no clue where the money went. Called ebay but they never cared
I haven't sold on ebay since a guy bought a rare digimon figure from me. There was a bidding war for it and at the last second some guy with 2 star feedback bid and won. Of course he said the figure was not what I described and it was EXACTLY the same figure I said it was. He just used the japanese name instead of the dub. He opened a dispute for 50% refund and won. Freaking awful people. He only bid like $2 more than the person who was winning the whole time with a lot of positive feedback. I sold over 150 figures on this forum with no problems at all. People on ebay are trash.
My girlfriend had a Paypal dispute opened against her for $10 from someone in Puerto Rico. She NEVER sold anything to anyone in Puerto Rico! When she contacted the person asking what they were saying they never got, there was no answer, and Paypal ruled in this person's favor because the buyer is apparently always right. Basically, she was scammed out of $10 because Paypal and eBay suck. Another time, we sold a figure to someone in Britain. Within four days they opened a dispute for never getting it and won. We shipped it and provided evidence, but were still robbed. Yeah, eBay is a cesspool anymore.
And their constant manipulation makes it very difficult for small sellers to move to that next step. They're like everybody else now, demanding tons of specialized experience but refusing to do even minimal training...
Whenever I have sent something internationally I use eBays shipping, that way once it gets to their service in Kentucky I am off the hook and it's their problem.
yeah guys, it's been a pain selling stuff on ebay... and now i'm a Planet Hulk and 47$ short , because of one crappy peruan jerk... i basically gave it to him...shipping and all...
Exactly why I don't sell internationally and even selling local I insure the fuck out of even a $10 item. That way if it gets lost or damaged I'm not out anything.
If a buyer complains that the item is not what it's described, isn't it policy to return the item for a refund?
eBay can override this at their discretion unfortunately. I've been told by a friend who works for the company that the overriding policy is keeping the buyers happy above all so they have the discretion to forgo any other policies when handling a dispute.
I am glad that I don't sell things on ebay. But I had several problems on Amazon with items taking too long to arrive. I did not know if the sellers or the USPS was at fault.
