I had my first sighting of one on the road the other day. As good as they look in pictures, they are completely bad-ass on the road. I wish Chevy would give the 70-72 or 83-88 Monte Carlo the re-birth treatment one day. Those models had some sweet lines too.
Went to the local dealership and they got two this morning, sold them both this afternoon. Missed seeing them by just 15 minutes.
Damn. Sorry dude. Most likely they were sold orders. Meaning, like me, they placed their order many months ago and were just waiting for them to get in. I'd be surprised if any Camaros are sitting around on the lots until after the summer. Chevy still hasn't built all of the preorders from before production began. Where are you at?
According to the sales guy, neither were pre-order fills. They both came on the lot that morning, and sold soon after. Of course, he could also be lying about them not being pre-orders. I'll see one eventually.
saw one yesterday on my way to the Gym...yellow one. IMO, with the tail end this has, that wasn't one of the good looking ones. Yours on the other hand, looks sweet.
Thanks guys! I've had my car a week now and I really love it. Should be interesting driving to the TF2 opening night in it.
I finally got a chance to see the car in person at a local dealership. It was a red Camaro 2SS with black stripes - LOADED for $43K, and the only one in stock. BEAUTIFUL car!!! It was love at first sight. I am really hooked on it now. I've always been a Mustang fan, but this new Camaro, has won me over. I think I will be getting the V-6 RS after I move. With a sunroof. I liked it with the sunroof.
Cracking wheels, Jeff - colour me envious! ('Cos this is one old fart who still gets around by Shank's pony - Google it if you don't get the reference... )
There are 5 different Camaros available right now. LS 1LT 2LT 1SS 2SS LS is the very base model. The LTs are the V-6's and a step up and the only real differences between the 1LT and 2LT are trim options. The 2LT having more "toys". The SSs are the V-8s and again a step up from the LTs and again the 1SS and 2SS only really differ in trim options. The 2SS being the current king of the hill. Even though it's not accurate per se. I equate the new Camaros to the previous generation of Camaros like this. LS - Base Model LT (even though it's a V6) - Z28 SS - SS And then of course you can get the RS trim too.
LS is base V6. 1LT is V6 with foglamps (and stuff like Bluetooth is available meaning you're likely to get a few gadgets). 2LT is V6 with the extra stuff like Bluetooth coming standard. 1SS is a V8 (basically a LS with a V8, foglamps, and better brakes). 2SS is V8 with everything standard. RS is an appearance package including HID lamps, spoiler, and rims, no performance change. the levels don't really translate to the 4th gen since the SS was only slightly better than the Z28 as opposed to the 120hp jump from the 2LT to the 2SS. RS is basically the same, 4th gen RS was an appearance package for V6 Camaros that included ground effects and a spoiler.
The jump from LS to 1LT also includes "Premium Cloth Seats" which I have. I really love these seats and I prefer them to leather. Yes, the leather is really awesome but I love the way they did these cloth seats. I have had leather in my last 5 or so cars and I'm really pleased with the cloth. I've seen the base cloth seats in the LS and the 1LT seats are sooo much nicer.
yeah, there's a few other differences like rims and such. i'm still not sure if i like the 20" wheels, though i imagine 17" or 18" wheels would look too small
Also, the 2SS has more horsepower than the SS. 426 versus 400hp. The RS package can be had with either the V-6 or V-8 models.
