Yeah the box is damaged but I'm not a box collector. Figure is factory new and guaranteed perfect condition. Prices on eBay for this particular FE are ridiculous but I got mine for only $42 and shipping was less than $4. Taxes bit me though but still an excellent deal. if this thing went on clearance somewhere for like $20.. then i'd think about picking it up.. but, for now, the leader class truck mode, and the upcoming DMK prime is good enough for me.

 

The non-first edition Leader is arguably better. The properly chromed pipes alone make all the difference IMO.

Nope this figure is bad the most I would spend is 20 dollars. The other leader is a bit better but not by much. I'm going to wait and see if there a movie 5 leader and if it better like how rotf improved on the first movie figure.

Yeah I don't like the figure that much stock either but he's getting some mod work and a paint job soon. I read that the FE is the better version for accuracy (wasn't able to confirm it though). This DMK's are awesome. I had 2 of the DOTM Optimus Prime versions and they were sick.

 

It's all just a matter of opinion but to me the only thing that the First Edition AOE Optimus Prime has going for it is size. Everything else from the chrome placement, the proportions of the alt mode,the transformation (mostly in the feet really), the backpack and the overall look of the robot mode is better on the retail leader, imo.

 

Ditto. I like the design, I just don't $50+ like it. I paid $25 for the regular Leader and I was thoroughly impressed, but I wouldn't mind the FE as a stand in for Silver Knight Prime what with all the chrome.

I hate to be a wet blanket to OP, but you could have actually saved 91 cents if you had just purchased him from Amazon. They have him for $59.28 plus a $10 off instant coupon, so $49.28 with free shipping (since the purchase is over $35 - even without Amazon Prime).

Plus (not that it matters much in your case) you could have gotten an undamaged box.
