    Concerning Ratchet:

I think that Ratchet is still alive or that he can be brought back. When Lockdown ripped out his Spark, he didn't destroy it. So, Ratchet's Spark can simply be placed in a new body.

But Lockdown is destroyed beyond repair. If it's on his ship, then it's nearly impossible to find.

    Sorry, Ratchet's gone.

Idea sounds too complex for both Bay and his writer to implement.

It'd be good news if they would bring back anyone beyond Optimus or Megatron.

I would be over the moon if the good doc came back - but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well... Megatron reincarnated based on his head existing... It is possible Ratchet could reincarnate if they say they didn't finish melting his head down.

I have a feeling we'll see some clones or reincarnates based on KSI now likely being Autobot headquarters in the future.

I wonder what Galvatron is going to do. He does have the knowledge to create an army. Just needs materials....

Well, in my personal cannon, he is still alive. Recall that Optimus said a Transformer's spark is their soul.

I disagree. It's Bay and his writer who had the idea for Lockdown to do that in the first place.

It's the first thing I thought when I was watching the movie. "Oh, Ratchet's not dead then!"

The head is not important. The spark is the consciousness. Which is why Megatron IS dead. Galvatron is just a copy of Megatron's memories. But it has no spark. It will think like Megatron and act like Megatron, but it isn't alive.

It's their ship now, and they have all the time in the world. Lockdown was not an idiot. I'm sure he had some cataloguing system for all his acquisitions.

Seeing as how they made an effort to make his death memorable and emotional, I highly doubt they would bring him back.

They might or might not. But they purposely left themselves an out if they decide they want to bring him back. As obscenely expensive as the Transformers are to animate, you can bet that no animated action happens by accident or is without purpose.

In the comic adaptation of the first film, Megatron didn't kill jazz by ripping him apart. He "ate" Jazz's spark, absorbed it to get more power. Lockdown must have done the same thing to Ratchet's spark

The Spark Chamber business offers the chance to bring apparently dead Autobots back in a later movie (Hopefully in Movie 9 or later).

Also, the strange way that Galvatron/Megatron was reborn offers the possibility of the return of other deceased Decepticons. Megatron's head was a mess, but it was apparently enough to bring him back. I wouldn't be surprised if he was able to somehow 'Respark' life back into what's left of Shockwave, Soundwave, etc at a later date, though they may turn out to be a bit strange. I imagine KSI have them in storage somewhere.

I've got the feeling that the movie makers were regretting killing off some of their characters in the earlier movies. People apparently like Transformers with more personality, and some of the now-deceased TFs were missed opportunities. This offers a way to remedy that.

It was simply showing that Lockdown collects trophies. Its not in Lockdown's nature to just kill without taking something he wants first.

If you think Ratchet's coming back, you're going to be disappointed. He's dead, Jim. Move on.

Ratchet isn't Generation 1 Starscream, man. Without a body to compliment the Spark, I'm pretty sure it'll just fizzle out eventually from lack of support. And who's gonna fix him? Ratchet?

This thread title probably should be edited so that it reflects OP's personal canon. Because in the official canon, Ratchet is as dead as Dillinger.

Sorry OP, your hope for Ratchet is as transparent as the little boy who claimed his father is still coming home, even though he just walked out that door 12 years ago to get cigarettes.

Ratchet may ir may not come back. None of us can honestly say for sure one way or the other. Its not fair to tell the OP of this thread to get over it and Ratchet isn't coming back.

Megatron has had his Spark vaporized by the AllSpark and beheaded and he's come back. OP had his Spark blown out completely and he's come back. Ratchet's body was destroyed yes. But none of us truely know how long a Spark in its Spark Chamber can last. It may be an indefinite thing. And even if it "fizzles out" as someone else said, it may only need a jolt of power to recharge it. Transplant that bad boy in a new body and a new Ratchet is born.

If you haven't guessed, I too think he can come back and this leaves it wide open to do so "if" they want to in a future movie. Again "if" they want to, the option is there.
