This is something I've been working on lately. It's based on my favorite comicbook, Gold Digger. It's an exploration platformer along the lines of Montazuma's Revenge and Pitfall 2. http://rapidshare.de/files/14384706/gd.exe.html Arrow keys=move Ctrl=jump This demo consists of the game's first area. The objective is to find the copper key and go through the copper door. The game will reset after you go through the door. Also try to get all of the coins. There's no sound effects because I haven't decided what to use yet. There's no music yet because I'm no good at making it and I really don't want to use music from other games. If anyone wants to get involved and do the music, send me a demo. The climbing animation isn't working properly for some reason. Be sure to tell me what you think and if you encounter any bugs.
There's a town not far from where I live called Brush. Their local high school's mascot is the beet digger. Their school colors are maroon and gold. Well, I know a girl from Brush, and she's got this jacket she got from track, and I swear, in giant gold letter across the back is the word "DIGGERS." I laugh everytime I see it, mainly because she's too stupid to realize the dual meaning. [/pointless Jux story]
I tried it out. It's pretty tough. Then again, old school games like Pitfall were tough. I didn't notice any bugs, though I think I got killed walking into the side of one of the falling ceilings. Also, I recommend adding a death animation when the player gets killed.
Glad someone decided to play it. This is basically the beta version. There will be a death animation. I just don't know what it will be yet. The ceiling crusher thing was something I forgot about. It'll be fixed.
Pleasantly difficult. Fun and charming in an old school way. I always loved the pitfall games on atari 2600.
