but no one knew they change the colors, so its just a variant not a lucky draw or anything rare.
KGS was trying to sell me the gold toe for 900. I thought he was crazy and was trying to beat me in the head.
mykooltoyz.tripod.com got his gold toe from BBTS

 

so where are they all at if they arent rare??? you would think there would be more up for sale if they were just as common as the blue claw. do you know of anybody else who got one from BBTS?? show me another one for sale, or more than that if you can, cause I'm not buying that they arent rare. I know it isnt a lucky draw. I also know ks had one. you may be right in some of this, but I would need more proof to say its not a rare variant, not just one guy saying he got his from BBTS-meaning they had cases of this variant(cause if they did, where are they at?). Meantime, I'm going with what I have been told by TF@TM and my own eyes and research.

 

I don't think he's saying that it's not rare, just that it's a variation rather than a lucky draw. There are plenty of variations of TF toys out there that are rare. Red foot Primes, for example.

 

sorry if i sounded like an asshole(which I probably did, my bad, it wasnt my intention). I read it as i was a variant, not anything rare. All i want is some kinda proof, which may be hard to produce in certain instances like this. I know BBTS had one they sold, but where are the others that were supposedly apart of the first wave. and I'm sure japan had some, so where are those if they are as plentiful as the blue claw. i'm sorry but I cant find them, and I like to think I'm pretty good at finding things that are obscure. I'm certainly not as good as some that started way earlier than me, and have better contacts, and better knowledge. I just would like to see some proof is all I'm saying on this.

 

Lioconvoy has always been a point of annoyance for me. I mean, he's a Prime. I'm a completist. But I do not want to pay the prices people are asking for a robot with a lion's ass on his shoulder.

 

Yeah, rereading his post he does say "not anything rare". My mistake.

Anyway, I don't know much about the toy, only the little I've read online, but it sounds plausible that it's a first run variant. After all, the fact that it was only available at TRU already makes it rather limited. If this is a first run variant on top of that, that would make it pretty hard to find.

Seems rare to me, at least.

 

Does it matter if its rare? It more rare then the blue toe and thats about it.

I have a Flash Lio Convoy waiting for me with my stuff in Minnesota that I got from Elvin at Botcon. I can't wait to open that one and add him to the Prime Shelf. It's really too bad Leos can't be found super cheap, that Head Sculpt is the Perfect Prime Head for Kitbashing.
