I kinda thought any of the 600 Series toys was fair game for Action Toys to produce, just no straight-up cartoon Go Bots. So only characters that actually showed up in the Revenge of Chronos anime can be produced? I hope we get Path Finder / UFO Robo. Hope that was a blink and miss also in RoC?
Last we knew it was only anime characters. Unfortunately Pathfinder was one of the few along with Coptur I remember specifically not appearing in the anime. However since the copyright info on the recent releases cites them being licensed through PLEX (the designers of the original toys) now rather than Production Reed (the producers of the anime) it may be possible that Action Toys has opened the door to doing non anime characters. We likely won’t know until it happens as I doubt anyone who has the full licensing detail will tell us.
Wait a minute, Loco, cykill, appeared in revenge of the gobot? Just from the point that the 2 releases were leader1 and cykill, I thought it was a gobot line inspired by chronos aesthetic
Loco/Steam Robo was a background character from what I recall, but Cykill/Bike Robo was a significant character in the second half of the series. It’s always been a Revenge of Cronus line. Some of the character choices may have been Gobots inspired, but it was specifically licensed from the anime.
I would love to see new figures from this line but at this point I'd settle for a release of Turbo and call it a day.
It's odd that they haven't released him, as they've had a greyscale proto of him since the beginning of the line. I figured we'd get him well before characters like Cement Robo or Steam Robo. Anyway, here's to hoping:
I'll get Turbo and then just be content with having Turbo and Loco. Now, if they do a "Surprise! Here's Royal T!" like the surprise with Buggyman, I would be ecstatic.
That's the 4WD Hilux truck, right? It has a animation model shown in the Newtype Machine Robo 100% mook, so yes.
Breakin' news: TF Slag Podcast has made news of a Raod Ranger figure in the TF War for Cybertron Kingdom toyline:
Darn, its just using the name. I got excited for a minute that there would be a blue and red version if Huffer with a proper Road Ranger head. :/
That is one of the few ehobby sets I skipped because the colors don't match the Gobots figures. Warpath as Treds is the closest match but the rest are way off on my opinion.
And Hasbro bought Tonka, who did Gobots. I know MR is owned by Bandai. My point is the repaints could have been painted to look more like their name sakes.
Remember Fractyl? The designer had to literally find a picture of the vehicle painted that way to get the OK to make her. Legal departments are a PITA.
