I think they're at the prliminary sketch stage right now. Probably another year before it moves to idea stage.
Steam Robo was a heroic, if unremarkable character in Revenge of Cronos. I think the only personality he had was one episode where he drank too much (ep 23), and another episode where he was among those who lost the annual race at Momo (ep 19). Other than that he was an unremarkable Battle Clan member often seen in the background in combat scenes. 2:50 into this video to see Steam Robo day drinking.
As far as I'm aware, the DX Leader-1 is only a rumor. Folks started taking about it around the time that DX Bike Robo was announced. Given how well that figure was received (and the fact that it explicitly catered to Gobots fans with the alternate faces), it was easy to assume a Leader-1 was incoming. But I don't think we've gotten anything close to an official confirmation that it's under development. A year having passed with no new DX figures announced or revealed, makes me less hopeful.
I’d say DX Eagle is more than fan rumor based on what Spence has said here. Not Official Confirmation perhaps, but it’s the spark that lit our fire.
I suggest you get him, he's a marvel. I love it. Wait what? They are getting rid of Paypal? That'll be the nail in the coffin for me. It's already hard enough with their enforced shipping rates that are way overpriced and normally more than the item I'm purchasing... Also, Yay steam Robo / Loco. Bought! I'm sad that it's just a single release, however there's still life in the ol' girl yet.
given how he's handling MM and MAAS i wouldn't put much stock into his word anymore at this point....
A guy who worked with Action Toys heavily implied DX Eagle Robo was fast tracked when DX Bike Robo sold well. It was reported in this thread I'll have to find the exact quote.
For sellers. When you buy from a seller, the money goes into eBay's account, to be disbursed to seller bank accounts whenever eBay sees fit. Makes it just a little tougher to manage cashflow. Buyers right now are in limbo. eBay says they'll eventually turn PayPal back on but sellers roped into eBay payments can't accept PayPal. You'll have to use a credit card, buy from somebody else, or wait.
Here it is... From Spence in April, 2018. -- I have been working close with ActionnToys the last few weeks in an effort to rethink the brand and representaion on Machine Robo. Price was indeed a concern for AT and we are looking for a good solution for a price drop, closer to the $35 to $40 mark for the smaller ones. There is more coming for the DX series and indeed EagleRobo is on the list and it will look PERFECT next to the bikerobo if you catch my meaning....*wink wink While doing some online research for AT and pricing I came across MechaToyBox who had some decent prices. Check them out if still considering any of the already released ones. I am hoping for an announcement soon on what the next two will be but there is still some work on understanding what is good for the west and what is good for asia as it is indeed machine robo and that is the lisence but the Gobot bleed is obviously there....how to decide to release what in what order is still being considered.
look up the unrustable bastards thread and the tetra jets thread sometime for the whole story. he's not someone i'd feel comfortable giving money to at this point unless the product is readily available. and his word seems to be worth shit these days given how the purple bike thing with MM went down.....and is still going down. he's turning into the next killinger
Link to the post for those interested. Thanks for digging this up. It's actually from back in April of last year. I wish the word came from a more reliable source than Spence, but it's good to know that DX Eagle may be more than just wishful thinking. Beyond that...I don't know. This is ActionToys, where grey and colored prototypes languish for years from reveal to release. If they ever get released at all. Given that, how much anticipation should we have for a figure that's "on their list?" It's a rabbit hole of drama and something that's already derailed a couple of threads. Spence was/is the main business person behind the Unrustables and Maas Toys. Unrustables did a crowdfund for a limited-run figure. Problems between Spence and the factory blew that project up. No figures were made, backers of the crowdfund ended up out the money. Spence promised refunds months ago that never materialized. He went radio silent for a few months, apart from the occasional promotion of his Maas projects , giving some folks the impression that he was trying to just wash his hands of the matter and move on. relevant links: Mayhem Mekanics Present Unrustable Bastards MAAS Toys Tetra Jets
Thank you for the heads up! Pre-ordered! I liked the previous Blackbird Robo head as well. It would have been nice if they included it as a bonus. On a side note, I'm surprised Turbo hasn't seen a pre-order: we've been seeing color shots for a while now.
