I'm looking for suggestions for fun stuff to do in Vegas. We are staying at New York, New York and will be getting a car rental for some of the time. We are going with friends that have been there once before, but only overnight, so we are not too sure what we are going to do. I also don't gamble so we will be looking to experience other Vegas things. Thanks!
Fine dining, gambling and golf are the three best things to do in Vegas. You don't like the middle one. What about the others? I would suggest hitting up one of the Cirque Du Soleil shows if you've never seen one. If you're looking to do a tourist type thing, check out Hoover Dam. *edit* Obviously you can hit up the roller coaster at NY NY as well. Wander through all the various hotels and casinos, check out Caesar's Mall, etc.
The guy that we are going with works in the concrete industry...so hover dam is pretty well a must. Maybe I will find the allspark!?! and yeah, we are looking a few shows, but wanted to play it by ear when we got there...
If you want tickets to places for around half price or less, there is a place that sells tickets for that days shows only, the venues that aren't sold out send the leftovers to this place in the afternoon. Ask the concierge, cuz I can't remember the name of the place. You do need to be flexible on where you sit and what show you go to, but that just adds to the drama/excitement if you ask me. Edit: I just googled this: "vegas show tickets day of half price" and got several places that have phone #'s you can call at 10:30am and they have all the info you need, go google it!
There are a lot of shows, shopping, and dining options there. My wife and I got married in Vegas and we hate gambling. We had a blast. and just because you don't gamble, don't disregard going to a casino for dinner. Some places have pretty good deals. Oh, and strip club..cuz hey.
Fashion Show mall is pretty swanky if you shop a bit. MESA Grill is an exquisite restaurant to eat at IMO. The Star Trek experience was pretty neat if you like Trek. The Games of the Gods Arcade at the Luxor was pretty cool for a little bit of gaming. And make sure to swing by the Bellagio a few times to watch the water show. Evey half hour I believe during the day, and every 15 minutes at night. Definitely try seeing it both at night and at day.
If you don't mind spending the money, go eat at N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms. Red Rock is nearby if you like nature and hiking. Let me know if I can help. I lived there for four years.
I dunno. I've had both and I liked N9NE better. Also for Japanese, I'd suggest Nobu at Hard Rock. Order the rock shrimp tempura. Rumjungle has good Brazilian bbq during the day. At night it becomes a club.
I enjoyed Cirque quite a bit. Even if you aren't gambling (and old enough)... wander in and out of all cool casinos and shops.
