Groove into Cy-kill I brought Brawn's face part from after market, then replaced the front half of AirRaid's head. Between the original black and later minibot repaint, I found the later easier to make. With the G2 color Powerglide: I only need to paint the red parts blue.
Yes, GM07 Red and GM08 yellow. But silver, silver and god Gundam markers are crap, they get dull pretty fast. I use Sakura Pen-Touch EF for silver and gold. The shininess is better and it endures.
Quickslinger's head and G2 Air Raid's body are perfect for Leader-1. Quickslinger's ball socket is too big for Air Raid's ball joint. I wanted exchange their entire combiner port section. But Air Raid's torso is jointed with pins, not screws. I can't get them off without risking to damage. So, an Gundam PC socket solved all my problem. Air Raid's blue is a lot to paint over. The tail-fins are in soft plastic, which won't allow marker paint to stick. And they are also jointed by pins, damn. Thankfully the whole back half can be easily snapped off. So I directly moved G2 Skydive's back half over. This would leave a big gap on the inside of his legs, but no affect to the transformation.
Ah man! Do Skydive’s legs really fit that well in robot mode? I had used mine for another custom, but I came across the same issue of with the rubber fins so I was unsure where to go from there.
Excellent execution!!! These are just about the same exact idea I have had for these two characters. The Brawn head for Cy-kill works great and you did a bang-up job on it. All of the figures on this thread look really good. Thanks for sharing!!!
Really good uses of the molds. I made Cykill from the same mold ages ago but I like how you used the Brawn head. Worked perfect for this
Paint looks so nice and you're using Gundam markers. What's the durability like? Does it get sticky or wear off? Add any kind of overcoat?
