Yet they're the only variant that seems to get reissued unless there was a metallic reissue that I missed in the last couple of years.

 

The original idea was that the painted/metallic versions would be limited, while the chrome versions would be the standard releases with potential reruns.

The Gigasaur designs simply heavily favour toy over 'toon, period.

Swoop sorta being the lone exception there. They had originally conceived an even more toy accurate version, with the visored head-sculpt and all, but it seems they got enough talkback about it that they shifted to somewhat more 'toon for him.

 

But is there an easy way of painting them?   I think their style is ok for my collection. I just think that blue eyes look better.

 

Yes. You could just paint them.

 

Yeah, sorry my question wasn't really posed well. I mean is there an easy way to dissamble their heads and paint the eyes. Or is everything glued on?

 

I wish the non-weathered versions had more accurate head sculpts like the weathered versions do.

 

All this talking of head sculpts reminds me of exactly why I bought a resin printer. I don't want to be restricted only to what they give me.

 

Maybe I'm mistaken but looking up info and pics on these bots over time I've seen that they come with two heads and the eyes are blue on one, red on the other. This should make it easier than painting. With the faces being removable from the heads it looks very easy to either put some masking tape to the edge of the eyes or cover completely and use an X-acto knife to cut the tape to the edge of the eyes and paint.

What would be nice is if with these reissues they include the heads that the weathered versions got because why not! They have to know that everyone loved them so give the people what they want.

 

Have you done much work with it? How do you like it? I've been really interested in picking one up and think it's a better way to go.

 

I just got it this week and I have A LOT to learn but making alt faces and add-ons will be a main focus of mine if I can ever get proficient at it.

Yep, you are right. I totally missed that part of his question, thanks for pointing that out. Looking at close up pics in alt mode the eyes look like they are a separate piece so it should be easy to unscrew the head and paint just the eyes and reassemble. Another piece they should include with all versions and give you the choice between either color imo.

 

Was notified last week to pay for my pre-order through Taobao. Paid! Should be shipping out next week.

As for the shipping... could be that Gigapower wanted to full payment and only then they started production?

 

And for some odd (and dumbass) reason the Metallic Superator had red eyes for Dino mode. I remember emailing GP back then what's the deal with that as the rest came with blue eyes and they responded as if it wasn't a big deal. Thx GP!

After looking at their Facebook pics and seeing all the production layouts with parts everywhere and their bots molded in different color plastics, it was easy to see the eyes are a separate piece to take out for and easy time color changing

 

What seller? What was the price you paid....before or after the 30 yuan preorder deposit?

My Taobao seller told me they aren't accepting payment yet until they get their stock in next week.

 

Are you buying him twice? In contrast the Fanstoys, I think it's actually a good thing if more Gigapowers are sold. To get those guys out of there cryosleep and back to Transformers.
