True, but i still love the character and his background story  . The origins of Skyfire in the cartoon and the origins of the Dinobot in the classic comics are very similar if I rimember well...

 

Yeah man...I was really impressed when I saw FT Sludge in bot mode but as usual, their Dino mode was laughablly bad.

Exactly, Dino mode is the "standard" mode for Dinobots in my mind and seemingly most of the show so they are one group where Bot mode is definitely secondary to "Alt" mode. Besides Swoop, I don't think FT has done a very good job on any of the Dino modes so I've never bought into any of them. GP makes beautuful Dinos with bruser bot modes to go with them. I never cared for Sludge much but I may get this just to have a complete set of the original Dinobots. Who knows, someday, I might end up with all 5 GP dinos because they are soo good.

 

I'm considering just this. Is there a mock-up for scale with this guy with the FT dinos?

I was tricked into thinking there was news.

 

It's a shame Giga has left the boards as I don't have a Facebook page and it would be ideal if they could just update the first post with new news and images. When I was on the TFW staff they would keep me posted when news was coming up so I could write something up for the front page. It's a shame that some members feel they need to be ***holes to other members.

 

yeah... miss the moment back then when GP ask for opinions on this boards about their design of guttur. and they are willing to scrap the prototype they had and redesign the whole thing based on feedbacks here. and guttur turns out to be a huge improvement over its initial design.

and yeah... some just thought they are superior to others and their comment can be very nasty and shows zero respect for others

 

Well, they probably realized that you people are just a small group of complainers who want stupid cartoony figures and it wasn't worth the time or money to be scrapping prototypes and remake a figure that probably sold less than what they would have if they would have stuck with the original.

 

It's fine, stop complaining. 5-10% smaller or larger?? Really? Hopefully someone did the coloring on their own, cause they suck.

Porky used the word "you people" which I thought is hysterically nonsensical. Anyway, whatever he said merely showed his lack of understanding on the receptiveness and direction of GP. GP has always taken in feedback, whether via forums or mail or messages and in doing so, still stuck largely to their style which is toy based design with cartoon look mixed in.

The only thing nowadays is that GP no longer respond that actively in the forums. But for those who were nice and encouraging, GP continued to respond on a one-to-one basis. At least they have responded to every one of my messages thus far, and in one of their responses said "You have been nice here, so I could try to talk with you more openly." See? It pays to be nice.

Of cos, the timing for the releases truly suck. I've only gotten my metallic grassor after what seemed like a long long time. But having a 3P who makes good, and continues to revisit to make good each error is a godsend. Of cos, as per their releases, may take freaking long but at least they made good and that's good enough for me. And they do make huge, great looking, intuitive transforming dinobots. For all that, I'm in no rush, I'll wait my ass off.

 

i think gp stop coming to this forum altogether. but yes, they still respond to their fb messages.
my last conversation with them is that both graviter and gaudenter "are pretty much neck and neck in the development. it seems graviter is ahead currently, but it may yet change."

 

From a conversation i had with them on bookface:

"...it is very difficult to estimate production, but we will have more this year."
