If you were to spray those parts, the same metallic or plastic grey colour as the figure, would that help or would it just make the figure look just as it looks now. I don't own the figure so I'm just asking !?

Co if you look at GP's Grimlock, they got a connector part for the shoulder as well that sits ever so slightly out, but it's grey like the figure and it doesnt look so out of place as if it were painted gold. Like on Grinder.

Both cartoon and toy. Basically g1 lol

Neither had hulking massive shoulders yet all MP Grimlocks have them. Daft thing is the other Dinobots are fine. It's just Grimlock.

Good point. Exactly what i think. If it's gold, it'll look like part of the chest .. If it's gray, it'll look as part of the arm/shoulder. I don't own grinder as well, maybe someone can try that

My gripes with these latest pics is the turtleneck he has in dino mod and if they decide to stick with the gun and the smoked clear plastic. The later, all the dinobots have a red tip on their guns. For consistency, I like to see that here on Grimlock too.

I'm still in and can't wait to get this in hand.

This has to be really close to release...
Did they do something similar with previous figures?

I too don't like the turtleneck of dino mode. I'm also waiting to see the front of dino mode.

Smaller shoulders wouldn't hurt it aesthetically just as it never hurt the toy or cartoon aesthetically.

Besides we already have 3 MP Grimlocks with huge shoulders. Someone needs to dare to be different....and more accurate.

Giga always goes bigger...they won’t be the ones to reduce the arm size. And I love that they won’t.

The bigger shoulders give him a lot of size and width, stature which is fitting for the “King”. Also, his arms are T Rex thighs and those ain’t small.

Maybe. I think i seen someone photoshop mp8 or grinder with smaller arm and shoulder. But i don't remember seeing any pic of the trex mode with slimmer leg. Most complain bot arm too big but i don't remember seeing any complain of the trex leg being too big.

If we're talking about proportions, the upper and lower legs are too thin, the crotch still a little too small, the arms too large. He might be the best looking grim yet, but nowhere close to being something that's irreplaceable.

    Also too much detailing.

I know, and that's not a good thing. For example ft headmaster don't have enough detail, mmc predacons and giga dinos too much. Mt seems to be the best generally speaking.

To be honest, love the overall look of this figure in both modes...

I just hope they don’t offer those damn stickers for the eyes.

Is there any Grimlock toy on the planet that can do that "ready to pound Devastator" pose? Reximus w/KFC hands kinda can but his dino claws block his face. A point to those that argue for lower shoulders.

Outstanding. I wonder if the clear chest piece can be opened to put the autobot symbol on his chest

Totally feel the other way: the details on this figure I find stunningly beautiful. The detail work on this line is a good 30% of the reason I have bought into it. No other line really rings the "diaclone bell" like this one. A big reason I loved the original G1 dinobots was all the incredible attention to tiny detailing that somehow made them look more "real" than other toys. I had the entire Fanstoys line, and sold them off and collected this line when "sludge" was released. This line REALLY hits me where I live!

I was on the fence with this guy until these pics, but these pics have put me over the top, and I will be buying him instead of Reximus. I like him a little less from a couple of angles. Like the angle of the neck in the first pic, from the left side and behind... not a flattering angle. But the pic with him stomping "Snarl's" head is better. The Bot head sculpt is great. The leg proportions of the bot mode are awesome, as well as the "huge" shoulders. He's built like a bodybuilder, with narrower legs and waist that to me suggests unexpected agility and speed in bot mode. He can move out of the way, and THEN crush your head.

Thinking about how they will display as a group: I think with those narrower bot legs, I will probably start displaying "Slag's" bot mode with his legs folded inside the legs. I have been leaving them out and using the filler pieces, but I think the group will look more balanced now with him and Grimlock and their hidden dino legs, and everyone else with the dino hips on their legs... Yes I think that's going to gel nicely.

It's not like he has everything... not at all. There are things I like better about Reximus. But now the weight has sifted for me pretty decisively to this guy.

I may look an see If I can remove that third claw an his dino arms. I totally get the people who hate that.

I hope he comes with his Rocket Launcher.

    That gun is awesome...
