Not as far as I can recollect, but the issue here is that Magnus was depicted as tall as prime in the cartoon and if this is the case the dinobots should be taller than him.

 

*cough* MP10 vs MP22 *cough* Scale debates dont ever have a winner. Cartoon is not consistent, Takara chose awful scale chart IMO. I just know I like Dinobots huuuge.

 

A lot of people just put dinobots and chrome as going together. Maybe your mind did that.

 

I also don't think MP-22 is going to look that much "too big". The only photo we have seen with him next to Prime is taken with Magnus quite a bit forward in the image making him look far bigger than what I think he will actually be. I remember the first pics of scoria next to MP-10 and he looked huge! We now now that this is definitely not the case..... The side by side image we have of this guy with MP-10 shows a correct perspective, which I really wish every company would do for their reveals.

 

He looks way too big (so far) to me. I like Optimus size, but UM is way too big, cars are small and Bumblebee is ridiculously tiny. Oh well.

 

You need to keep in mind Mp22 is even bigger than Optimus is in alt mode with his trailer yet is still designed to scale in alt mode. And optimus of course doesn't use his trailer at all in robot mode so like 70% of his vehicle mass doesn't factor in to his transformation.

The fact they were able to compact magnus down as much as they did is kind of an amazing feat of engineering. He already folds and compacts so much its crazy, I can't even imagine how they possibly could have shrank him even more without resorting to lazy partsforming. Bumblebee though is weird, Voltwagons weren't exactly big cars but he seems excessively small in both modes compared to other mps.

 

I don't have a problem with Magnus being big. I do have a problem with him being fat.

I was thinking the same thing, he looks way too bulky imo. Not sure how an Ultra Magnus debate broke out in here though.

 

OmegaRiz wanted to get an idea of how much bigger than mp22 Guttur was and it seems that both figures are very close in overall height based on the pics we've seen of each so far.

I know takaras StarSaber is absolutely huge as well so he may also be of a similar height. These three mps (along with transistor whom I ordered today) are some of my most looked forward to figures over the next few months precisely because all of them subvert the traditional expectation of mps (according to a decent amount of people anyway) and I'm really glad to finally see some diverse approaches to this type of figure.

When it comes to MP though and making decisions about which 3rd party figure I go with to compliment the official line, I like to see as many "real" comparisons as I can as I think some companies skew things a bit with their photos. The best thing about these guys apart from their height is the bulk they seem to have and that is going to add massively to the presence they have (and should have) in our display's.  

 

It isn't bad to ask legitimate questions. Not your fault it created a tangent. Besides, brief tangents aren't bad.

Anyways, I do like the overall colors and the metallic gold on this, looks extremely good to be honest. Hoping this comes out soon, and they make Sludge instead of Slag next.
