Same. I'd prefer a Generations scaled line with small drivers, but honestly, these are the kinds of crossover toys I always wanted as a kid.
guys damn....enough with the beachcomber thing. so what they're both buggies? it's a recon vehicle. bee is a recon soldier. beachcomber is a pacifist. bee is recognizable. don't be weighed down by "it's the same vehicle" that's irrelevant here.
I just wished they didn't use the classic mold for the Joes, or whatever it's officially called. I would have preferred the later 2010 or around that era.
My point is that years ago, Hasbro artificially shoehorned Bumblebee, who happens to be one of the lamest characters in the entire Transformers universe, as the face of the franchise. And they continue to shove the character at us like the weird lunch lady trying to push off days old green beans in the cafeteria. At some point, it's like Hasbro decided that Bumblebee was going to be to Transformers what Mickey Mouse is to Disney. I believe I'm not alone in saying that it was a horrible idea to start with and I'm sick of the constant plethora of Bumblebee figures.
Cool that they needed another Joe crossover so each faction is represented. I do hope that they eventually go back to doing other franchises again just because these Joe ones don't seem the best engineered compared to the other figures in the Collaborative line.
sure, but on the flip side toys like this are expensive and a bit of a luxury. I think it’s alright to be selective and critical of products
At some point Hasbro successfully made Bumblebee the face of the franchise. And he was never the lamest character in Transformers lore.
He’ll never give up He’ll stay till the fight’s won B.I. Joe will dare B.I. Jooooeeeee (A real crossover figure) B.I. Jooooeeeee!
Maybe this AWE Striker can be made into a Sureshot figure. I have been wanting an updated Sureshot, and he turns into a dune buggy too. Maybe would have been a better character than Bumblebee to use but not as popular.
i can't agree more on this. i wish it was more 'modern era' as well. at least modern figures would still work well with the transformers.
Looks no better than some of the weird ko's one would find on sirtoys. Transformers Design Team: "We designed an AWE Striker that turns into Hound." Hasbro Marketing Department: "Who?" Transformers Design Team: "..... Hou-" Hasbro Marketing Department: "WHO??? " Transformers Design Team: "..... *sigh* Bumblebee." Hasbro Marketing Department: "That's right! *looks at Hound* KNOW YOUR PLACE TRASH!!"
I know everyone is like "why Bumblebee instead of Hound?" But honestly, Hound should be the VAMP with Clutch.
Strongly disagree. Making Bumblebee the face of Transformers is the equivalent of making the Ewoks the face of Star Wars.
So, who else is just going to repaint the torso and arms green and give him a Hound head then? I know I am.
it accomodated a titan master, i know, but still the problem is they make the tfs smaller than the allocated mass of the vehicle and it ends up with huge vehicle kibble everywhere, i dont know why they have to FIT an specific "robot" size, i get it, because of the "scale between the official sizes compared to the joes" but if they know they cant make them more complex to hide all that mass(because megatron is hollow as hell) then make them slightly bigger to compensate, but nope, all we get is characters that dont fit the vehicle design, in colors that clash with their own, in an scale that doesnt work in robot mode, with huge chunks of kibble and still manage to be hollow, so no, the excuse that they have to fit a joe is juts that, an excuse
Strongly disagree, Bumblebee was there from the opening scene, Ewoks were added to Star Wars years after the 1st movie.
It’s the Iron Man Effect. For years, Iron Man teetered between B-lister and A-lister. Then, the Iron Man movie came out and made almost $600 million. Seeing how successful that was, Marvel made the smart move and capitalized on it. Nowadays, it’s difficult to think of something by Marvel that doesn’t have some sort of a connection to the character. Same with Bee, he was the bridging point for the humans and the Transformers in 2007, and the success of that movie catapulted him into the forefront of the franchise.
