Ok, so we have TFs and Star Wars..that kinda came out of left field, but GI Joe & Transformers have been linked together since the beginning. Wonder why Hasbro has never combined the two in the toy world? I mean more that just E. Snow Cat or Powerglide which looks like a Rattler, I mean really combined them.

Since the SW/TF line seems to be doing ok, think we'll ever get something like that???

I hope not, to be honest. Look at the horrific pieces of crap that have come out of the SWTF line.

Yes, but what if they were Takara enginered? That's a different story.

Probably won't happen. But, if it does, they need to let the Joe guys design the vehicle modes, then let the TF guys design the bots and transformation.

Also remember they dumped the 1/18th scale idea for Alternators/Binaltech to go for the 1/24th scale. Any G.I. Joe Transformer would have to be 1/18th scale to fit a Joe figure.

Those things don't even count if you ask me, they have a Transformer logo on there and have the gimmick of transforming, but the blending of genres ends there. There are plenty of transforming robots out there, but not all of them are "Transformers" you know? Just because those things change from vehicles to robots, I don't dare associate them with Optimus Prime and the like. If that line had been a real collaboration, like so many people imagined when they heard of it, such as say, X-Wing fighter Starscream, it probably would have worked out a lot better.

Anyway, a collaboration series to represent some of the comic Joe/TF stories would be great, but I doubt it'd happen anytime soon. Looks like the best we'll get for a long, long time, maybe ever, is Energon Snowcat.

I'd guess GI-Joe and Tfs have never officially linked because action figures seem to outweigh vehicles in importance in the Joe world (mostly a guess, as I'm not a Joe-head) Transforming Joe vehicles would have to either be figure-scale (potentially quite large), and probably significantly more expensive than a non-TFing vehicle due to the complexity and engineering involved, or their own scale with tiny figures or no figures included, like the Star Wars TFs. I seem to remember concept prototypes that showed the idea of GI-Joe crossover TFs has been 'toyed' with, but I'm guessing a good compromise between the demands of the two lines was never adequately reached.

The design of that thing is like a prehistoric Cybertron Defense Red Alert. I would be cool and call that toy by it's Japanese name but I forgot it and I'm about to sleep so screw looking it up eh?

Feralstorm, figures outweighing the vehicles in the Joe line is obviously true, but not as much as you believe, and it was a lot more equal in the RAH line, which is known for having absolutely wonderful vehicles, and quite a large number of them. Hasbro put a lot into those things, for the most part.

I always thought Transformers to GI Joe scale would have been great. Although they probably would have been expensive given the size they would be.

Back in the late 80s or early 90s I recall seeing a Robotech Veritech fighter toy with a cockpit that would seat 3 1/2" figures. I don't think it transformed completely to the robot mode, just the in-between one (I don't remember what it was called). If Robotech was able to have a (partially) transforming toys that scale I didn't know why Hasbro couldn't do it.

Not even to gerwalk mode. It had a bnooster mode with a couple folds of wings and addition of rockets, I believew, but that was it.

I've always thought that in a G.I. Joe/TF line the Joes should be smaller than 3 3/4". That way the TFs wouldn't have so damn huge. I think a good size for the Joes would something like the old MASK figures, but with more posability. I don't know if most Joe fans would have a problem with smaller figures, though.

Well they could always use the smaller GI Joe vehicles as Transformers. It would be more like GI Joe and Mini-cons though. Off the top of my head (my memory is fuzzy on GIJ vehicle names, so forgive me if I'm mistaken)...

    the Polar Bear (snowmobile),
the Shark (Deep Six's sub/jet thing),
GIJ Jump Pack (jet pack and platform),
    Fang ( Cobra Mini Helocoptor),
    Cobra jet wing thing,
    GIJ Tri-pod laser cannon thing,
    Zartan's Swamp ski thing,
    the first GIJ motorcycle,
    SGT Slaughters mini-tank thing
    the Trouble-bubble

I'm sure there are tons more that could be used.

As stated a few posts above, yes I would. I just wonder if the average Joe fan would.

Hhhmmmm...I think we would be better to not include the Joe fans, they hate anything that is not 3 3/4". to them Sigma Six is like the Red headed stepchild of the series.

If Sigma Six is the red-headed stepchild, then GIJoe Extreme was the crazy brother-in-law in a mental institution somewhere that you never talked about, while Sgt. Savage was the uncle that molested you as a child.

At least S6 keeps the same names, overall character design and basic story. Still not buying it, but at least this departure from 3 3/4" wasn't a complete psychotic break like the last two.

I still want to buy the Sigma 6, but they won't be released up in Canada at retail. :(

I supposed all Joe fans have a right to be mad after those debacles.

The only thing S6 has going for it in my eyes is the characters are somewhat the same.
