Ok i consider myself a GI Joe fan. But i want to ask a question here about your opinion on this: In the original show did it annoy you that Lady Jay and Flint were huge screen hogs and appeared constantly although Duke, Snake Eyes, Scarlet, and other characters appeared less. This one of my least favorite parts about the original GI Joe that it didn't have as much as a consistent cast as Transformers did. What i mean is in the original Transformers show (seasons 1 and 2 at least) they had more of a defined cast to me such as Optimus, Bumblebee, and Ironhide while although they didn't appear every episode they would be there more often then not while in Gi Joe they just randomly rotated characters. Now i know it was all to sell toys and thats why Flint and lady jay would appear since there toys were newer then Dukes at the time but what do you think about it. I mean i don't hate flint he is a good character but i do like Duke a lot better while Lady Jay on there other hand annoys me a lot.

So what do you guys think?

Renegades is really the only thing GI Joe i actually watched on a regular basis and honestly there was not enough of Flint and Lady Jaye.

I think any character that takes screen time away from Duke is a good thing. Flint and Lady Jaye have never been "screen hogs" to nearly the extent Duke was.

But yeah, I'd rather watch a two hour GI Joe movie starring Alpine and Bazooka or even Blowtorch and Snow Job than that cardboard cut-out Duke.

I can't BELIEVE anyone is complaining about screen time being taken away from Snake-Eyes and Duke, the two most overused, over-exposed Joes ever.

And it's Lady Jaye, not Jay or J.

Not to start a huge argument here but in the original show starting with the revenge of Cobra it was usually always showing Flint and lady Jaye more then Duke and i know its to sell toys but still there is NO WAY you can say Duke appeared more then Flint and Lady Jaye. Heck even in that horrible DIC series (NOTE: i've only seen season 1 of that) Lady Jaye keeps popping up. And to be honest i don't understand what is so good about her she just really meh in the Subow and Dic series. Flint i don't hate but i do consider him a screen hog in a way.

lastly your hating on my two favorite Joes right now. Duke and Snake Eyes FTW. As well as Scarlett, Gung ho, and Ace

    Boo-hoo-hoo.

I like Snake-Eyes a lot. But there is no denying he is the single most-overused character in the entire franchise.

I don't watch the G.I.Joe cartoon enough to care one way or another. I very much prefer the comics to anything the cartoon ever gave us.

Besides, it is best not to try and analyze character selection for an 80s half-hour toy commercial. It's like asking why Shipwreck was included for missions that when into the desert, and why he always wore that sailor uniform, even in the desert.

Lady Jaye was my first crush as a kid. There is never too much Lady Jaye.

Those episodes where Sgt. Slaughter was a focus were crazy, but I loved the ones where Wet-suit was the hero, for some reason.

In the comics, Scarlet > Lady Jaye. By a huge margin.

But in the cartoons, Lady Jaye > Scarlet.

This and this. Flint >>> Duke. I always preferred it when Flint was leading in an episode.

If we're only rating duos, then Flint & Lady Jaye, Destro & Baroness, Alpine & Bazooka come in way before Duke and Scarlett.

Overall, Cobra Commander and Shipwreck, all the way.

    Serpentor was a screen hog...

Grew up with original show. Never saw the point of Flint and Lady Jaye, they struck me as pointless Duke and Scarlett replacements, but not nearly as cool. Duke had great one liners, and Flint just came across as smarmy. Lady Jaye basically stole cartoon Scarlett's schtick, but converted to a weapon with less range. And then, there was her three pack a day voice....

PUT ME IN MORE EPISODES... THIS I COMMAND!

The Alpine/Bazooka dynamic never really appealed to me, maybe since Bazooka was treated so... well... "challenged".

Alpine was cool enough for both of them. He has most of the best lines in the entire cartoon series.

I hated him so damn much.

The Operation Dragonfire mini sucked so bad, but at least it ended with Cobra Commander leading again.
