Too fast for Ecto 1.
Admittedly I’m much more familiar with the dub, but I love that series
Preordered mine at EB games here in canada
Actually I would hope neither. Assuming we get Studio Series Dreadbot down the line, the Mystery Machine would be an easy repaint. No stupid human head, no stupid backstory, just a cool homage that happens to transform into a cool generic robot. Ectotron was close, but they had to put the stupid goggles trying to look like the guys that drive him in alt mode. Why does the robot always have to look like its driver ? A robot doesnt need ecto-goggles, the technology can be built in his optics. He is a robot.
Was joking about the Mystery Machine, chill out. As for Ectotron, personally think the Ecto goggles are a nice touch and a great representation of the source material, why wouldn't the Ecto-1 not just transform into another Ghostbuster with gear similar to his teammates? If he would have been another generic robot with a generic blaster some people would be upset that it would be just a lazy attempt and just another cash grab without putting effort into making the crossover work. Thematically the robot mode works and why want just another repaint when you can have a unique robot that would stand out within your collection?

Agreed, but what would you call them?
The bat convoy
A team of clown cars making Jokertron.
of COURSE the main antagonist is Starscreams\' Ghost. How was that not a super obvious decision??
Also that missing character block... We know our protagonist and our antagonist, so its super mysterious who that could be... There isnt a Prime in the cover photo at all, could be because we have Ectotron to take the leader role in these issues, but maybe its some strange stay puff prime. I\'d be into that.

Im just not a fan of "crossover". I wouldnt mind knowing that the Ghostbusters exist in a world where transformers also exist at the same time. But I see no point in them having any interaction with each other. They have no logical reason to meet unless youwant to make a stupid money grab comic. (Which is exactly what they did) Now on the other hand, if it happened in a Bayverse style scenerio where a bunch of cars including Ecto-1 got zapped by energon and brought to life, that would be cool. But no stupid goggles, or justification is needed. It would be so much cooler if the robot was 100% generic.
They would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling 'bots.
How many shark-formers are there. We'll jump them all!
How many continuity families are there? We'll suck them all dry!
So you don't like crossover transformers with unique characteristics with defining features, instead suggesting that repaints of bayformer figures and generic robot modes with little to no effort would be better specialty anniversary figures than something unique...? Also why does it HAVE to be logical? The point of both the figure and the comic is to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Ghostbusters, not some "oh hey you know what would be cool?" situation. If you like bland designs and the scrap metal known as bayverse deceptions, you do you, meanwhile I'll be enjoying Ectotron as something cool and refreshing to see from a transformers figure.
Similar thought but if Starscream is dead then maybe Prime is as well?
Another thing missing from the cover: Anything Ghostbusters aside from Slimer and the firehouse. There’s no way any of those covers would just be Transformers fighting.
So I’m betting some of the TFs will be ghosts on the finished covers.
Hope the ectotron figure is capable of combination. Either way. I really want it
It’s not, it’s not a remold of hotspot, it only shares a few generic parts and you can see there are no cw ports where there would have been on hotspot
