Is this the first of a Movie/TF crossover series? If so, the A-Team van and KITT would be awesome.

Again it makes no sense. War for Cybertron takes place on Cybertron, not Victorian-era Earth.

Hey I say why not? The Transformers movie universe already established the allspark turning machinery into transformers. Or, on the Ghostbusters side of it, he could simply be possessed.

If I had to guess, it'll be like Star Trek/Transformers and it won't.

My money is on it being a Sunbow/Real Ghostbusters crossover.

With Star Trek, they had to tweak the Sunbow continuity for the crossover because Star Trek has WWIII in 1996. So TFTM and so on never happened.

My PREFERENCE -- and I know it's doubtful -- is to somehow get the Ghostbusters from 1985 to 2005.

In part because of Starscream's ghost. But also because you have other dead TFs to play with. And I think the S3 cast has more of a cast dynamic with one another and the Ghostbusters. Rodimus is actually darkly funny. He tosses out fatalistic/sarcastic jokes all the time and might have an interesting dynamic with Peter. Kup works with Winston. Perceptor is probably a better match for Egon than Wheeljack. Arcee is protective of children and Ray's a big kid. S3 story structure is more like Ghostbusters. S3 deals with the aftermath of death. You can get into things like the Ghost of Ironhide. Starscream raising a ghost army.

And nobody's going to pay attention to Ectotron with Optimus Prime in the room unless Ectotron ends up being kind of a mary sue or a plot device. I'd rather have undead Optimus getting manipulated by Starscream.

Oh! Yeah! Say Starscream steals the dead Transformer bodies and offers them up to Gozer and the other ghosts in exchange for a new body of his own. Meanwhile, the Ghostbusters get transported from 1985 in a space bridge accident.

Superion and Computron end up tag-teaming Staypuft.

The other nice thing about S3 is you aren't stuck with the "Megatron wants to do something" plot. S3 plots don't need ALL the core Decepticons. So in a crossover, you get to spend more time with the leads interacting and Galvatron and his troops can just be off doing something else.

You are harder pressed to do S1-2 plots without having to account for twice as many characters, which risks shortchanging the guest stars. At least with Star Trek, you have villains like the Klingons who are kind of undemanding to setup as villains but since Ghostbusters is all about setting up the story specific bad guys which means you might have to juggle two sets of heroes and two teams of bad guys. The late S2 and S3 plots tend to focus a lot less on the Decepticons as a whole and more on indvidual baddies, which plays better with Ghostbusters.

Do you not get the point I am saying use a story in which Shockwave creates and army on cybertron of autobot clones which look like in hearts of steel

this seems as totally unnecessary as the figure itself seems fun.

You never explicitly said that. And it still makes no sense. Hearts of Steel should be its own trilogy, not connected to War for Cybertron.

Oh. And one more advantage to a S3 setting:

Either the Ecto-1 comes to life (eh, okay, maybe in the Bayverse or Animated where you have the Allspark) or Ectotron is an independent character who's always existed and who scans the Ecto-1 (my preference).

So IF the Ghostbusters get shot into the future, the Ecto-1 is probably a junker and so you have a REASON why Ectotron takes the Ecto-1's place.

As an overpriced limited run third party 'experiment' this figure would be a hard pass for me; however, at whatever Hasbro retail will be this is going to be an easy purchase just to try it out.
