Well the timing is perfect for me. With Transformers and GI Joe shifting to their respective movie lines (That I want no part of) I'll actually have a budget for these.
hey... well, my wallet has just been brutally raped... so buying these... fuck, if they do Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 versions, I'll get them all... 12" and 6"... I'm a Ghostbusters whore and Mattel knows it!!!! I"M A WHORE!!!!
I'm really looking forward to this. All I really want are the 4 Ghostbusters in their gear from the first movie, so as long as the figures are sculpted well, this line shouldn't put too much of a hurting on my wallet.
Boy...this is interesting. Hopefully some interesting figures. I definitely would love to have an Ecto-1 or 2. I'll have to remember this.
I am all over the 6" line, I'll get the main 4 from the first movie, the Cartoon ones if they look good, and select ghosts. If they do Ecto-1 or Ecto-1A it's game on!
I guess you don't keep up with current gaming or movie news,Bill is doing Venkman's voice in the new GB game and he will also be reprising his role in GB3.
Actually I do keep up with it, which is why I said that now Murray is interesting in helping promote the Ghostbusters franchise since the rest of his career is on a downward slope.
Awesome news. I have been trying to get the toon figures on eBay for a while but always seem to get outbid. So FU eBay! HA! I'll get al the 6" figures. Hope we get some cool ghosts like Samhain and the Boogeyman.... And the Grundle. I've recently bought the complete cartoon series on DVD from Timelife. Ghostbusters are making a comeback! Woo!!
I want all the 6" figures, and a 12" Venkman. :O Venkman and my "cheapo" Snake Eyes (the $16 one) can uh... be awesome? together. Also, I am pretty sure Bill Murray's career isn't "dwindling", he's just picking and choosing what to do with a little bit more scrutiny. The fact he is voicing for the video game, means that I doubt he'll have an issue with the 12" figure too, which will be awesome. (As the 12" figures seem to be more actor-like than the 6" ones)
Not to mention that Sony has given the green light for a live action GB3,Murray has agreed to be in it,which is a huge step for him. Oh and yea I want those 12" figs.
I'm a member on pretty much every GB related board,as well as GB prop building boards. The biggest prop building board is run by a fellow by the name of Sean Bishop aka Venkman71 on the GB boards,he use to or still works for Dreamworks, not sure which. But anyways, there is a lot of buzz around Hollywood about it,oh and Dan Aykroyd,Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson have all confirmed it in the last few months through various interviews. With a lil digging on the Interwebs,I'm sure one could find it. Oh and just for the hell of it,have a pic of me with my GB tat.Love's me some GBs. EDIT: Try looking on http://www.ghostbusters.net or http://www.protoncharging.com or even http://www.gbfans.com Those 3 sites were where I read about it back in Oct.
That's a sick tattoo, dude. I've told myself many times that if I ever got any sort of tattoo, it'd probably only be the no-ghost shield (? think that's what that is called?). If there were a new movie, these figures hopefully would sell hotter than bottled water before a hurricane, and maybe even get to stores instead of just on Matty Collector. As it is, I don't mind them being exclusive to there, and hope a bit higher price point on the 6" figures lets them give the figures plenty of accessories, because if there's one thing that the Ghostbusters have, (and figures should have) is sweet equipment. Lastly: If some version of Ray (preferrably the GB2 figure, of course) comes with an NES Arcade Stick, I'll have died and gone to heaven. "I don't think they make Nikes in her size, Ray."
The official name for the GB logo is the "No Ghost logo". I'm probably gonna go broke on these new GB figures,I own most of the old 1986 Real GB figures,so it's about time they get some new figs.
