As brief movie teasers go, this one was a sweet treat. Dark and ominous with a classic “Ghostbusters” tune fittingly playing in the background and ending a glimpse of the old Ecto-1. The classic proton pack power-up sound capped it off brilliantly. I can’t imagine anybody better suited to direct the 3rd installment (which by the way is 3 decades overdue) than Ivan Reitman’s own son! The Ghostbusters franchise is the most beloved and famous chapter of his father’s cinematic legacy. I imagine he will do whatever it takes to ensure that the 3rd installment honors the first 2 films and most importantly, his father. I for one am looking forward to seeing this movie and will check out any updates on it’s progress until then.
Wow it seems talented people grew up in the late 80's are now bringing back the 80's vibe in Hollywood thru their story telling be it a main plot or flashbacks. - X-Men Apocalypse - Bumblebee - Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - Ghostbusters 3 - Kung Fury (short film) - I wonder if the final product of the main film will be 80's vibe as well. - Ready Player One - Stranger Things season 2
Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters Sequel Already Has A Teaser Trailer Ghostbusters 3 Trailer is up! Edit: ok already posted! sorry!
You know, I was so sick of hearing Dan go on about this movie for the last few millenia, but seeing it now- that it’s actually happening & it’s not just more hot air... it’s just crazy. But cool. One prediction! Egon will show up as a ghost of Harold Ramis using old footage. They gotta get the whole crew in there & a movie about ghosts- it seems to obvious not to do it.
Put me down as cautiously optimistic... I didn’t hate the 2016 GB flick, but I certainly didn’t love it either and a true follow up to the original movies done with the same feel would be quite welcome. That little teaser put a huge smile on my face and has me hopeful.
So will Bill Murray have anything to do with this? He was always the one holding this back for years. Probably just going to be Aykroyd and Hudson returning. Maybe Potts. Still think one of the new Ghostbusters should be Oscar. He'd be in his 30s. Maybe a daughter of one of them since they want a female on the team. Oscar's half sister, Peter's daughter maybe. Keeps a Venkman as part of the team.
Plus we get to see ray's farm for the first time. It's been the joke in the movies, the game and the cartoon. Non hardcore gb fans won't even get why the ecto-1 is in a barn. Murry has said he wanted to play peter as a ghost who hangs around the firehouse not knowing he's a ghost and no one tells him. Not sure if he is in this script (as it's a new script) but he was in older scripts. Oscar was a new ghostbuster in the old scripts.
I'm also going to remain cautiously optimistic. I'm excited for a new proper sequel, and I'm fine with the passing of the torch, but the whole "four teens" casting sounds kind of worrisome to me. Like previously stated, one of the team members should be Oscar.
If it's four teens, why not just have it be Oscar's kid? Maybe he's not a fan of the GB returning, and the kid has to keep their involvement a secret from him.
Well, this trailer got me interested. The barn and the music totally made me think Back To The Future, when Marty arrives in the past. Who is this Oscar you guys keep mentioning? Also nope, hope they disregard the IDW comics. Much like their Transformers and My Little Pony comics, they were a giant mess. A new cartoon would be awesome. Cintinue where Extreme Ghostbusters left off! Of course not sure if all the old voice actors are still alive. That was for a pretty awesome Walmart commercial, as we now know
Aw hell yeah man! I liked the 2016 Ghostbusters but I can't wait to return the OG Ghosbuters franchise.
The creators of Stranger Things actually grew up in the '90s, but they watched a steady diet of '80s movies on VHS
Well...the teaser was nice. But reiterating what I said earlier, this isn't a good idea. Given how Sony screwed the pooch with the 2016 film, I don't have high hopes for this movie succeeding. Besides, the 2009 video game was our Ghostbusters 3.
Questionable math there... Feh. The IDW comics are amazing. My only real complaint (other than the few instances where they have a B-team do the artwork) is how the story arcs were force-capped at four issues apiece. There were a few interesting stories that wrapped up too quickly as a result, denying them a fuller build-up and gravitas.
Watched the teaser trailer... I was sceptical when I first heard about it, but that teaser flooded me with soooo many childhood memories. I want to be cautiously optimistic after ATC, but instead I'm excited.
