I get stuck watching these shows because of my girlfriend. I personally don't believe any of it. Also, threads about TV shows go in the Movies and TV Forum.
In the recent series (3 and 4) they've shied away from using psychics and demonologists, and focused more on finding plausible scientific explanations to debunk alleged hauntings. For things they can't explain, the TAPS team may admit there is paranormal activity, but Jay and Grant are hard-pressed to say there is actually a ghost or ghosts. Like the Fave Non Transformer Cartoon thread?
Definitely a big fan of TAPS and of Ghost Hunters. I like how they try to debunk things scientifically, instead of just believing what the people say about their encounters. They go into a place being skeptics, but hoping to find evidence of people's claims. If you go in firmly believing into said claims, then it's quite possible your mind will play tricks on you, and what would be some logical explanation, your mind believes it to be a ghost. I believe their findings to be real and them being legit.
I was so let down when they came to Salem and didn't find evidence of anything one way or another. They didn't even investigate the abandoned jail! Those things are always wicked haunted!
I remember that and felt the same way. I think it was the one where Donna felt better now that she went back as an adult and shit. Meh.
I watch Ghost Hunters every Wednesday. In a previous thread I mentioned about Ghost Hunters going to Appleton Hall in Appleton, NY lastweek. I visited that house three years ago and the lady owner never mentioned to me about a child ghost, but she did say about the father shooting his son. I also like that new show "Ghost Adventures" on The Travel Channel and it is better than that "Most Haunted". I like watching about the Goldfield Motel in Nevada where it showed the flying brick. But I remember for years I heard about the "Winchester Mansion" in San Jose,CA being haunted and Ghost Hunters went there to investigate and they did'nt find anything.
Donna had Chones Disease some sort of Digestive disorder. What is your fave episode on Ghost Hunters?
I watched the first couple seasons of Ghost Hunters, and even though I found the show interesting I got tired of being teased all the time. Every show, they had a teaser "gotcha" moment going into commercial, only to turn out to be nothing. I just couldn't take any more of that kind of sensationalist video journalism. I also couldn't stand to watch Brian--an egotistical, annoying jerk who caused a lot of senseless, non-entertaining drama on the show. I actually met the cast at Dragon*con and got to chat with Jason, Steve, and Grant for a bit. They're pretty cool guys, but I just don't watch the show anymore. I refuse to allow myself to be led along and deceived like that. The best reality-based paranormal show on TV is "Paranormal State" on A&E.
My Sister and I watch Ghost Hunters ever once and awhile. Its an entertaining, I usually stick around to watch the team run away, scared shitless, but most of the time TAPS usually finds nothing and honestly, the show gets boring after awhile. Its not terrible, but I can't watch it any longer than most "Reality" Television... Tango? Is there a Cash in that group as well?
So anyone like to say what is your fave episode? Next Friday Ghost Hunters is having one of their annual Halloween Special Live investigations and will have some of the Ghost Hunter International people and Amanda Tapping from SG1 and Sancturary as a guess investigator. Just don't understand Josh Gates from Destination Truth involvement in this other than being a host?
I do believe the Yiddish word was what was intended: putz : an idiot, a jerk; a penis (from Yiddish פּאָץ pots) Granted, that translation may make Tango more appreciated by some members here...
Last night was a really good episode, how they caught the figure of a man on the thermal. I was impressed.
