If you had to chop 1 line from your collection, which one?

I love all of my transformers, but am facing the reality of having to get rid of one of my main collection chunks based on my over-buying compulsions. Main collection lines are:

    G1 reissue/encore/commerative
    CHUG
    Movie & ROTF
    Energon
    Animated

I have comparible values/collection numbers in each line, so no matter which one I give up it will be a lot of figures. If you had to choose which would you chop off?

    Energon.

I am not a big fan of it. That's all.

Energon as it is the weakest of the group, the combining gimmick isn't a bad Idea per say but it wasn't pulled off that well.

Energon. Out of those lines listed it is, IMO, the worst line. If you have the Black Unicron I would keep that though. It's pretty tough to come by if I remember correctly.

Animated with no hesitation. In fact I already did that for the most part to conserve space. I only kept out the ones I don't mind or that I use in my comic. All the others got tossed into storage.

I say Movie/ROTF with the exception of one or two figures. While it is true Energon was weak, many of those figures now command high prices and may be worth holding on to. Whereas the movie figs are relatively easy to find and probably wouldn't cost much if you ever wanted to buy them back. If you don't need the money, I'd get rid of Movie. (Plus many are aesthetic nightmares, at least you can tell the Energon toys are robots)

I'd get rid of the movie stuff faster than you could blink.
But another alternative might be to weed out what is slightly less appealing to you in each line.

I guess you could make the same arguement though that at least the Movie toys look like vehicles/etc. Energon has some pretty funky alt modes.

Just go with whatever line has your least favorite Formers. Don't trust this forum with the decision.

CHUG, Movie, and Encore are going to keep going. Energon and Animated at this point are dead ends.

Anyway, I voted Animated for that reason before noticing Energon on the poll.

    Dump Energon.

Fine,I'll take out "no offense", but please read the question, I'm just interested in what you would do, I'm not basing my decision on the poll results, just interested.

If you mean no offense, then don't begin your post with, "No offense, but.."

And the rest of the post suggests our opinions may sway his/hers. Thus, my response.

I recently made a similar decision between Cl/Henk/Uni etc. (can't stand the term CHUG), and Animated, kept my Animated. Derrick J Wyatt thought I made the right choice!

Of your choices I'd say lose Movie/ROTF first, with Energon a close second.

I would dump 2 lines, Energon and Movie figures:lol .

Energon: I never liked those transformers but keep Bruticus for the FP upgrade:rock

Movie: Its pretty safe to say, all the main characters will once again get newer, better figures once the 3rd movie is released. Once that happens, you'll look at your ROTF toys as junk (maybe) and run out to buy the newer versions of these characters. I know some of you think ROTF Prime is the second coming of sliced bread but hold on, Movie 3 Prime is still in the works.

Its obvious you love Animated so I wouldn't dump those.

Well I don't have Energon. If I did I'd probably dump it.

I've come closest to "dumping" my Animated toys. I only have a few, my gf actually has just as many.

I would never collect a large number of G1 stuff either, I just get some oddball stuff that can hang with Classics-style toys.

I own so few Energon figures that if I HAD to choose, I'd get rid of the 3 from that line that I could live without. I have more than 3, but they either became/are in the process of becoming custom figures or are used for something else (the Superion repaint is my Classics Superion).

Movie would be my second choice simply because the molds there at least have decent robot modes to look at. And the Landmine mold.

For me, Energon. A lot of them I have are unaltered and I could sell them. Every movie and Animated figure I own is modified in some way.

If not Energon, Classics because they're just in a box somewhere. (though they're modified, too)

I just had to make the decision between Classics (all encompassing), Movie(s) and Animated. I chose to just get rid of Animated Decepticons as I love all three lines but my allegiance is to the Autobots. I know, kinda dumb, but I had to get rid of something and it was easier to part with a portion of a line than the whole thing. Though, If I had Energon, it would have been chopped immediately.
