Did this one a while ago, but it's a quick easy one so thought I'd post it. I know I've seen a similar mod before, but it involved shaving down something whereas this mod involves simply removing the inner lining of the toe and repositioning it. No effect on alt mode, but the toes are now oriented with the headlights up and down instead of side to side, but with the sharpie coloring I've done, it's not as noticiable and I can live with it. Oh yeah, I did the stinger mod too, I believe the credit for that goes to Matt Booker. Before: After: pics of the parts to take apart:
Ha! I did this a while back too! I do feel a little dumb though, because I didn't notice at the time that the foot was constructed from 2 pieces, so I just cut away a bit of the corner edge of each inner foot so it wouldn't obstruct this positioning (it's an "invisible" cut, doesn't show or affect anything). But all I had to do was remove the screw, eh? If anyone else is considering this, go for it! These pictures don't do it justice. It looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the absurd giant clown shoes in the official transformation. Since Bumblebee doesn't have boats for feet in the cartoon, "accuracy" is really a non-issue. It just looks undeniably, incontrovertibly better! ...and since it doesn't even require any cutting (d'oh!), it's a zero-risk experiment. zmog
Glad you like the stinger mod, and thanks for the mention. That really shrinks down the feet! I'm going to have to try this. Thanks for the mod! ~Matt Booker
Thanks for the ringing endorsement Zmog! Don't beat yourself up, I only went with the screw as the path of least resistance and it just happened to work out. Your way took more skill and kanones! Cool, glad it worked for you secretcode, you're welcome! Thank you for the stinger mod, and also the HA Skids mods, Matt. I did both mods and he looks great! You're welcome!
awesome, love it, just did it, looks awesome, to some it may look less accurate, but the way his leg and foot flow together now fits with the animated look a lot more, in my opinion 3 CHEERS FOR NO MORE RABBIT FEET!!!!
Great mod! Just finding this now, but it makes the world of difference. Only downside is that by removing the piece on his left foot is that the black peg falls out that connects his feet together in alt mode.
