THIS is the worst place to buy toys at.
Most of the stuff they bring out is toys they didn't sell a few years ago, even transformers.
It's great if you want to buy expensive tractor toys!

Indeed. This is going to open old wounds IMO.

I dunno. Menard's doesn't even sell Transformers. They sell the crap that pretends to be Transformers-ish besides the not-Thomas train sets and the not-Barbie dolls.

It's funny, who in their right mind would be like "hm lets go buy our kids toys at a farming/home improvement store"?

Larian is definitely not any part of this now. In fact, he's on record as refusing to have anything to do with this new company.

One of these should open within my local Wal-Mart. Maybe then we'd actually get figures in stock.

I\'m not sure if this will be successful.  I watched a few of those \"Retail Archeology/Abandoned Malls\" videos on YouTube, and there were some \"shops within shops\" featured in them.  The sad state was that the host and guest shops both went down.  I think the point made in the videos was that the guest shop was either redundant (as the host shop already carried similar products) or irrelevant (as the demographic for the guest shop differed from that of the host shop).  I also saw that usually \"weaker\" shops would host such guest shops, as \"stronger\" shops had no need to do so.

It's back "in name only" and not actual stores. Folks can get angry if they want but it's a completely different group of people running the brand right now.

That was my first "not so fast" thought after Meijer, but I think they're well out of the Midwest now. Menard's could be another long-shot possibility as well.

I can't speak as to whether or not Kohl's has left the midwest, but they certainly have a presence out here on the west coast.

Yeah, Kohl's is national now. I think when they say Midwest, they mean "mostly based within flyover country".

I meant expanded beyond that geographical area. I know they're in "the South" now too. Kohl's might still have been considered a "Midwest retailer" 15 years ago, but I think that ship has sailed. I wasn't sure if they were quite nationwide yet, though.

I buy everything online, so I don\'t care one way or another. I got fed up going to stores only to face disappointment every time.
