Eh, it's just an amusing quirk of the design. Once you factor in her legs and her butt (and sweet Jesus, does she show that thing off...), she doesn't look masculine in the least. It's only from that dead-on right-side view does her outfit somewhat mask her femininity.

 

Oh, if it's only from a dead-on right-side angle, then they don't need to change anything.

 

There won't be much mistaking her for a dude, when this is the view you'll be getting of her most of the time:

 

Seeing her back made a question pop into my head, why are so many women wearing backless tops?

 

Because if you're going to be staring at that backside for significant portions of the gameplay, you might as well go and make that part appealing-looking as well.

I think the only female, non-child character at the moment without her shoulderblades or back exposed to some degree is Barbara. But to partially make up for that, she wears an off-shoulder top which is its own form of fetish fuel.

 

I suppose, but it kinda bothers me in places like Dragonspine, granted, everyone should be wearing something warmer for Dragonspine.

So, uh, character skins when? I'd love to see some Dragonspine outfits.

 

Ultimately, the work pipeline says "screw realism". Designing new outfits for characters is almost as expensive as designing new characters from scratch, as far as creating new art assets goes. If we ever get character skins/outfits in the game, you can bet they'll be monetized in some way, and not just thrown at you willy-nilly just for the sake of immersion.

It's only relatively recently that outfit customization has worked its way into JRPG-style games in the first place. Traipsing up sub-zero mountains in bikini armour has been the norm for ~30+ years.

I find it slightly more incredulous that they didn't at least create a new scalable cold-weather model for the Adventurer's Guild characters, so that they at least look like they're prepared for the elements. Instead, we got dumbass Pallad...

Honestly, the Monstadt Adventurer's Guild doesn't seem particularly good at its job. Beyond the Dragonspine debacle, you've got Lynn, who, despite being introduced to you as quite the survivalist, struggles to identify mushrooms on the ground, Pallad who otherwise wanders into monster-infested territories and "doesn't expect there to be monsters around", and if you do Bennett's hang-out, you're introduced to Royce, who somehow exhausted his rations one room into a dungeon and already seems on the brink of starvation.

The Liyue branch seems comparatively more composed, if only because we're not bailing them out of trouble every other minute.

Ughhh. This game is bad for my health lol. Not particularly interested in Eula but her auto attack animations are fucking great.

Also Yanfei is a pyro Ningguang without Jade Screen. Faster ROF on her auto attacks it looks like. Totally down for that.

 

I agree about the Mondstadt branch of the Guild. For some reason, everyone just seems so incompetent. And the people you think would be cool, well we’ve only seen a little bit about them like Cyrus.

Speaking of the appeal for this game, I really hope we get more dudes in the game soon. And if we get any dudes, hopefully we get something like these if we are going to get girls showing their backs:

Just to give two examples of what kind of guy I’d like to see personally at some point. Of course if they don’t want to do that and release skins, they could release something like this:

Zhongli in the Yaksha Trailer(he’s wearing this same thing on the Geo statues)

But yeah, I’ve honestly been missing the boys in the game as of late.

This has to be a famous pose or something because that's way too on the money for those statues to look nigh identical right down to the fucking cube.

Might tie back into the whole Gnosticism angle Genshin seems founded upon.

Yeah, my bad. But, I would definitely like to see Zhongli in his Archon attire though if skins became a thing. Those abs are not worth missing out on.

 

I would be hard pressed to think skins will not eventually be a thing. People are demanding them left and right for the KFC collab versions of Noelle and Diluc and the system itself already exists for the glider wings which are all functionally the same.

Unfortunately the question then becomes how the top rarity skins will be obtained. In game achievements? Gacha rolling? Or straight up cash shop items?

 

I definitely agree about more dudes.

Especially how anime this game is, femmy-dudes and studly dudes too. Especially the kind of femmy guys that confuse other guys though. That's so my bag. <3
