I had saved about 150 star glitter at one point, hoping the rumors of "standard banner 5-stars coming to the shop" panned out and wanted to be ready. They never did (and at this point, likely never will). Blew it all on standard fates.

 

Decided to do a bit of a risky move: dumped what Starglitter I had into wishes and did another 10 roll on the weapon banner.

Gotta say? Definitely a good payoff.

 

I'm hoping that the other 3.5 second-half rerun is Ayaka, purely so that Mist Splitter is paired with SoBP. But rumors are leaning more towards Albedo with Freedom Sworn. Not bad, and those weapons are a perfect aesthetic match. (Albedo doesn't HAVE a signature 5-star, so it's still iffy what weapon would show up with him).

I could make some use of Freedom Sworn, but Mist Splitter would definitely be better.

 

Completed the entirety of the Sumeru Archon Quest, and man it's a massive improvement over whatever the Inazuma's Archon Quest was. Everything feels more fleshed out thanks to the longer 5 act structure allowing the story to breathe, and the attempts to at least show the story unfolding from other character’s POV and contributing to the actual plan is a good change of pace. There's still some flaws here and there, but it's still a good attempt to step-up the narrative writing after the mess that was Inazuma's Archon Quest.



Now that I've completed the entire Sumeru Archon Quest, I had also gotten my Dendro Traveler / Lumine to C5. Really happy with it, only 1 more constellation left!

I haven't kicked anyone out of co-op in like a year, but I have little time for someone being cute/playing games. If you want to farm----say so, you can have anything, strip-mine entire nations if you'd like. Want help with a boss? I'll fight ANYBODY.

But if we're up to reply 3 and you haven't even started to actually make a point/respond to my inquiry of what you'd like to do in my world that you asked to join----you're gone.

 

No doubt Sumeru is the best one yet. Being able to witness the action elsewhere from the Traveler's perspective was pretty huge and, arguably, essential. The player would have missed out on way too much otherwise since so much of the final act hinged on what everyone else was doing. What I personally liked about the Sumeru arc is that all of the Sumeru 5 stars introduced so far has had a surprisingly involved role in the archon quests. Even the yet to be playable Kaveh (assuming he is a 5 star) has a brief cameo moment which is still better than Hu Tao and Ayato who never had a scene in any archon quest whatsoever.

So I made my single 10 roll and struck out. RNG gifted me a C2 Qiqi (queue the Qiqi song). So I'm currently at Jean C0, Diluc and Keqing C1, and Mona and Qiqi C2. Fairly spread out; I'm guess I'm lucky since I've heard of others with way too many of a single 5 and yet none of another. Probably will be a while before I pull a Tighnari though.

After a few tries with the current Yelan banner (With only some decent results in getting Xingqiu to C3 at best), I finally got Yelan, Ningguang, and Xinyan's C1 all in the same pull.

That said, I also knew that some of her vital ascension materials are only available from fighting the Ruin Serpent, which is perhaps one of, if not my least favorite field boss fights in the entire game so far (It's just a very boring boss fight where almost around 90% of the entire fight is just the Ruin Serpent hiding underground, which combined with its huge health bar makes almost the entire fight just you walking around in circles hoping the thing resurfaces so you can attack the thing and get things over with). Really not looking forward to that.

I was super disappointed in Apex's Ganyu figurine for that. Didn't even use her far more dynamic Wish art (Back when characters had two main profile arts instead of the just the one).

This time it's Taroumaru, Thoma's bestest buddy and owner of Komore Teahouse, rather than Kageroumaru from the previous Warrior Dog event.

 

Oh.

Well, still, that makes TWO of the strongest fighters in Inazuma being straight up dogs.

 

Yeah, I'm very glad *this* company is doing the Eula figure---they do fewer but better ones IMHO.

 

I'm really surprised at how "low effort" their Ganyu figure is. I even got Koto's Barbara, simply on the back of how wonderfully characterful and dynamic and vibrant it is, despite being nowhere near one of my favourite characters. But can't pull the trigger on Ganyu at all. So bland and stock and boring.

Even weirder when you put it up against the figurines Apex produced for Honkai Impact, which were all super elaborate pieces more in line with the Ningguang figurine.

[edit] Actually, they also did the Keqing and upcoming Xiao figurines which are both way better presentations, with elaborate baseplates and effects. I didn't get the Keqing figurine either, though. I thought the rendering of that pose was just a bit too stiff.

 

It's kinda strange how many different companies do official Genshin statues----makes it hard to get a consistent look/style. But if WonderWorks only ever does Mona and Eula----I'll be fairly happy, I like their take on things.

(honestly, I think an archery-type pose for Ganyu could be pretty neat----kind of do like the Mona one, and have her "suspended in mid-air" while doing her leaping-shot)----a very "dynamic" option is needed.

Yeah, when compared to most of the Genshin character statues out there, APEX's Ganyu statue just doesn't look all that exciting, with a very boring pose and while the painting is decent, there's just something about the way the face sculpt was done on that statue that just seems... I dunno, kinda flat?



The weirder thing for me, however, is that we don't really get a lot more proper posable figures of Genshin characters. The only ones I can think of (That weren't Nendoroids) would be Figma Mona, and this weird 1/8 scale posable Qiqi figure from coincidentally enough, the Archtech sublime from APEX (Which also has an equally flat-looking face like that Ganyu statue, so I guess that was just APEX's thing) and that's really it so far.

 

Yeah, Qiqi as an articulated figure just somehow "works" quite well, due to her look/outfit.

 

There's.... there's no way that's the actual dialogue, right... !?

 

If you have a built pyro DPS, one thing you can try is apply burning right before the serpent dives down and it should continuously apply damage as it's underground. Someone apparently did the same to the Wenut (sp?) on YT and it seemed fairly effective.

To add to what was said above, this is actually Taroumaru's 2nd outing and his previous was at the first parrying event (during the Irodori Fest, IIRC?). I don't believe Kageroumaru ever showed up again after his own event.
