Anyways---yeah, I'll stick with Rosaria and/or Raiden as my Eula support. No need for Chocoboy, even if his kit may end up technically superior for Eula/phys support.

Also---now I'm more confused than ever about Dehya's hair. So the "ears" are just like a headpiece, but they have "locks" that are identical to Dehya's own hair. So she wears cat-ears that have built-in hair extensions?

(my head-canon is that Hoyo's artists originally intended her to actually have cat-ears, but forgot to remove her human ones, and they've been trying to gloss over it ever since)

::edit:: Maybe it's a Rosaria situation, and she actually has short hair? It just looks long because of her headwear? If you mentally remove all the "long" hair, it actually works really well...

 

The desert region is inspired by Egypt, whose real-life ancient peoples famously revered cats.

So it's not out of question for that to be an intentional motif for Dehya, especially with the nickname "Flame-Mane".

 

Mika I feel is another one of those 4* characters that only really feels worthwhile at C6. Heal? Seems okay. Phys DMG buff is up to 30% as long as all 3 Hold E projectiles hit. ATK speed buff using Tap or Hold E is nice. But really what I'm interests me is the C6 giving a 60% Crit DMG buff.

Everything else just doesn't feel worth it if you don't have C6. Raiden already is free and easy Superconduct which is more or less a DMG buff for Eula and the speed isn't actually meaningful unless you can add more than 1-2 extra hits on her ult.

It's just kinda like Faruzan who is almost useless until C6, but there's more innate benefit for Mika. The return of Physical Zhongli? Mika and Yun Jin might make Zhongli into Strongli!

 

60% CD is very tempting, but I just don't think anything could convince me to kick a tall waifu off the team, in favor of a chocobo...

Annoyingly, at this rate, it seems unlikely we'll ever get another physical support, so my Eula team will never be "as good as it could be".

 

On theory, in my usage case at least I could get Rosaria off the team IF Mika can generate particles. My Eula team is Raiden/Rosaria/Eula/Flex. Rosaria is a battery also with some nifty bonuses such as Crit rate buff on her ult. She's a Noblesse holder, so popping her ult before Eula is another source of damage buffing.

I feel Mika's bonuses are generally pretty good...but again I also feel he's gotta be C6 to be most meaningful. C6 Rosaria's Phys Defense Shred is kind of a nothing burger because Superconduct shreds so much DEF anyways. Defense shred diminishing returns and all that.

I think in retrospect Mika could have a good use case...at least for me. Losing 15% Crit Rate is rough but my Eula is at 55%. Gaining 60% Crit DMG is kind of crazy. However if Mika can't really generate energy then it might be trade I'm unwilling to make. I'd have to completely overhaul my artifacts to get a 130% ER while maintaining my Crit stats. Mika's burst heals, but my Eula team is generally good enough to kill before health becomes a big issue. If Eula didn't nuke everything out of existence then the Musou no Hitotachi will clean up the rest.

 

On the one hand, I do want to pull for him. On the other hand, I want to pull his weapon... for Keqing.

I would love to have that, but $75+ for something just under 3 inches tall is too much for me right now.

 

The pulls were decent for the new patch:
- C2 Ning
- C2 Yun Jin (got her twice in two seperate pulls)
- C2 Rosaria
- C5 Xinyan

And I felt like pulling once on the Xiao banner just for kicks to burn the last of the 50 wishes I needed (I had a LOT of standard wishes to burn on the regular)...and I think I hit soft pity (the details page didn't update) so now I have angsty wind boi. Fortunately, I already had his Jade Spear leveled to 90 for over a year so now I just ned a good artifacts set on him and I probably could build a team around him. I would like to try something other than my Eula/Dendro Traveler/Kokomi/Fishl lineup for a change of pace.

Anyways, I got Alhaitham and his sword. And as I planned, I gave the new sword to Keqing (now at crit 70/200). Alhaitham has R5 Black Sword in the meantime, and so far even at just level 70 he does pretty well with it.
Also got Xinyan and Yun Jin up to C6, plus I think C2 for Dori? No Yaoyao, though.

Unless there's a surprise Kokomi rerun, or some other must-have, I may not do any serious pulling until Fontaine's archon. Drained more of my resources than I probably should have.

I'm not pulling anything this go around. Might do Al-Haitham's sword, but I dunno. I hear he's really good but I'm just not feeling him to be honest, even if he is a offical Genshin Hot Guy and fuck me there needs to be more Genshin Hot Guys.

 

Well, sort of similar for me. The character demo trailer video is admittedly pretty cool, and Alhaitham seems like he can be quite fun to play with, but otherwise, I don't really care about the guy as a character too much to immediately want to roll just for him, in a “cool if I can get him, but still can live without him" sort of way. I‘m honestly more interested in getting YaoYao (or any characters I still don't have) from the current banners since from what I saw from her character demo vid, YaoYao's kit seems closer to the kind of play style I prefer.

If it's a 5-star character that I actually like or at least, give a damn about in some ways on the other hand.....

 

So, after reading Faruzan's story, I think I finally get what Anemo/Wind Vision bearers all have in common: loss

-Venti: Literally wears the face of his dead friend thousands of years after the fact

-Sucrose: loss of her childhood friendships (heavily implied one of them is dead)

-Jean: This one is shaky, because nobody close to her has explicitly died like every single other one, but I think it's the loss of her personal life? She's always overworked, yearns for romance (she's clearly attracted to Diluc) and a deeper bond with her somewhat estranged sister Barbara, and her vision story relates to the point she became Acting Grand Master and devoted herself once more to defending Mondstadt as is her family's creed.

-Xiao: All his friends are dead largely by having all gone insane from the ceaseless wars driving them mad. Also Perveses even though he wasn't a yaksha and didn't die from insanity. It's why he's scared to get close to anybody, because the guilt of his job and being Kratos-level "covered in your own sins" attracts trouble.

-Detective Guy from Inazuma whose name I never remember: I think he saw a friend get murdered in front of him? Out of all the characters in the game I find this guy to actually be the least interesting (especially since his introduction was at the tail end of Inazuma and I'm way behind on hangouts) so that's all I know about that.

- Faruzan: got trapped in some kind of dimensional pocket for a hundred years, went insane, then logic'd her way back to sanity to solve the puzzle trap...only to find out she'd been gone for 100 years and everything and everyone she knew was dead and gone.

- Wanderer: Dottore fucked this guy over hard is all I can say, given saying anything more is really spoilerific for a current late-game story quest and YellowCorvette is still plugging away so I won't ruin it. For those who did the 3.3 quest, you know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I'm assuming you're not up to the Sumeru plot yet, because Al features very heavily in that.

 

Loved Alhaitham's demo. Would I pull for him? Maybe sometime later if no other badass male character shows up but that's assuming no other hot chick shows up either and there is one right on the horizon.
