Since I'm into the classics line more than movie, I gotta say Generations. I will pick up some of the HFTD line but will buy all of the Generations line.

HFTD isn't really a movie line. I think of it as more of an extension of what happened with the N.E.S.T. sub-line, where the Classics and Movie aesthetics began to merge.

And I prefer HFTD since it has more classes.

I think the two compliment eachother. Some of the figures fit in with the Classics look like seaspray he is gonna be displayed with my CHUG collection when i can get them all on display.

Judging on the basis of quality of figures overall, I would have to say generations.

    why?

HTFD have some pretty nifty figure too, but at the same time not all of them are jawdropping.

    Generations?

WFC Prime? pretty amazing aside from transformation
WFC BB? I consider this one of the best 2010 transformers
Drift? 3 swords need I say more?
    Thrust? Very good seeker mold.

Besides, looking at the next wave of Soundwave, Megatron, Red Alert, Blurr, Dirge, and Darkmount all of them are very impressive from first hand reviews.

In other words, generations seems to be like classics, where almost all of its molds are simply, amazing.

Aside from Human Alliance, right now Generations has the better figs IMO.

Honestly I'm pretty burnt out when it comes to movie figures. Display wise my Classics Autobot/Decepticons outnumber all the others except BW. So far I have Drift and WFC Prime. WFC Megatron will most likely be the last one for a while.

Unless there is a Maximal, Predacon, or Vehicon figure in the Generations line. I'm not even bothering with that line. So I'll be picking though the HFTD series instead.

Out of the figures I have from each line right now (wave 1 of generations, new mold wave 1 of HFTD aside from repaints), I'll just look at deluxes to be fair. and HFTD wins for me. BB Bumblebee and Ironhide are a lot more fun than the WFC Prime, Bumblebee, Drift, and Thrust.

    But they're all still cool.

As much as I really like Wave 1 of Generations; Leader SS wasn't in it, so I'm going HFTD just because of SS. Love that figure.

The only figure I have from either is Legends Rampage.....

Though, of all the stuff on store shelves, I'm more interested in Generations (sans Leader Screamer).

Let's compare by waves, and keep it to Voyagers and Deluxes:

    WAVE 1:
    WFC Cybertronian Bumblebee
    WFC Cybertronian Optimus Prime
    Thrust
    Autobot Drift

    versus

    Battle Blade Bumblebee
    Ironhide
    Jetblade
    Sea Attack Ravage
    Night Ops Ratchet
    Payload
    Sea Spray

HFTD is mostly repaints, ruling them out I'd give this wave to Generations.

    WAVE 2:
    Darkmount
    WFC Cybertronian Megatron

    versus

    Tuner Skidz
    Elita-1
    Hailstorm
    Sidearm Sideswipe
    Decepticon Banzaitron
    Battle Blades Optimus Prime

I like Hailstorm, but I LOVE Darkmount and Megatron. Generations up 2-0.

    WAVE 3:
    Red Alert
    WFC Cybertronian Soundwave

    versus

    Electrostatic Jolt
    Terradive
    Tomahawk
    Highbrow
    The Fallen (Spear)

Terradive, Tomahawk and Highbrow are all great. This wave goes to HFTD.

    WAVE 4:
    Dirge
    Blurr

    versus

    Axor
    Rescue Ratchet

It's close but Generations just squeaks out a win. Generations 3, HFTD 1.

    FUTURE WAVES:
    Autobot Jazz
    WFC Cliffjumper
    Perceptor
    Scourge
    Skullgrin
    Thunderwing
    Tracks

    versus

    Battle Damage Bonecrusher
    Fallback
    Mindset
    Grapple
    Lugnut
    Offroad Recon Ironhide
    Strafe

The future waves for me, Generations all the way. But there's plenty from both lines that I'll be adding to the collection!

    I'm enjoying both.

WFC Bumblebee and Drift are both awesome, though I don't like Prime as much and I passed on Thrust. I plan on collecting more of the Generations line thanks to Bee and Drift.

I have Battle Blade Bee, Ironhide, Night Ops Ratchet, and Sea Spray, from HFTD. Love Bee and Seaspray and love how Ironhide looks (but his size brings him down for me), and Ratchet is cool, but I got him at a sale and I'm not sure I would've bought him other wise.

I expect impartial balanced commentary, taking into account the fact that both lines have a few duds.

    Not.

Generations for me. I'm a little burnt on movie style. I need a break before TF 3 toys assault the toy stores.

Generations, HFTD and movie lines in general do nothing for me, some of the Generations that are stuck in HFTD boxes i'll get (like grapple)
